LinkedIn! Christmas is just around the bend and, as such, I just wanted to share this information with you, #SamararitansPurse has a program called #OperationChristmasChild, that packs shorboxs for children of families that can't afford to get them Christmas gifts. You can pack them or you can pay to have them packed. They will send you free resources such as, labes, posters, flyers and inspirational videos to pack and send. This could be a #WholeFamilyProject that will help cultivate a humanistic nature in your children. #GivingBackToTheCommunity is one of the main principles of Christmas. What a fun way to do so as a family ! OR Have a #PackingParty for a #CommunityProject and maximize the boxes you can suppoly! IF you prefer to do it on your lonesome, there is no judgment. Sometimes, it is good to be anonymous. You have the option to build a box or have one built online at a cost of just $25 per child. You can be the difference in a child's life this Christmas. With these boxes, you offer them love, hope, friends to play with and, overall, support in the form of a healhier, happier childhood, and therefore, a brighter future. The power of a smiling child is in your hands:) Won't you make a difference by showing them that #ChristmasIs4EVERYBODY! #BeTheHope you wanted someone to be for you. Some of us are blessed to wake up on Christmas morning with a room full of love, laughter, and family. The call of our children early in the morning, their voices full of energy and excitement. For me, it’s my very most favorite holiday for those very same reasons. I love traditions and more than anything I love my children and seeing their smiles on Christmas morning. Not everyone has this privilege. Think about children who have been recently removed from their homes, feeling uncertainty, feeling lost and a terrible feeling of grief, not knowing what has happened, not understanding why they are suddenly in a strangers home. Not understanding why “Mom” is not there, wondering where their brother or sister went, why are they not together? Confused about how nice the people are in this new home, but sad because it’s not their home, it’s not their bed, they don’t have their favorite comforting blanket and plush toy. The smell is different, the food looks different, it’s not what “Mom” cooks. Just imagine… This is the feeling of the hundreds of children placed in Foster Care and Residential homes everyday. Its not much compared to all that they have lost, but together we can help share a little joy during the most magical time of the year. Together we can make wishes come true and hope that in someway we have touch the life of a child when they need it most, together we can make a difference! Let’s spread joy together! When participating in Secret Santa you are helping a child in need, who like other children, have wishes and “maybe” a little hope. Interested? Email SecretSanta@HelixHumanServices.org with your interest. We will do our best to match your preferred age and gender. You can help by requesting one wish list and purchasing items on the list. Each wish list is written by each child/youth. I have to say - full disclosure- its fun to see how creative children can get, but sad to see wishes you can fulfill, like “I wish I could see my dad” or “I want to be with my sister”. Other ways to help is making a monetary donation (we do the shopping for you), hosting a toy drive or giving tree, or purchasing an item (or a few) from the Secret Santa Amazon Wish List. Have any questions? Lets chat! To learn more about Helix Human Services and the children and families we serve: www.HelixHumanServices.org To make a monetary donation or learn more about Secret Santa visit: https://lnkd.in/e5MEGNST To see the Amazon Wish List visit (remember as wish lists come in the list of items increases): Link coming soon. Thank you for helping make wishes come true!

There are countless ways to pack an Operation Christmas Child shoebox. 1. First off, choose which gender and age group you want to do, and then decide on a “WOW Item.” This could be a (deflated) soccer ball, stuffed animal, nice outfit, etc. 2. Then, decide what other items you’d like to add: school supplies (pencils, pens, markers, notebooks, rulers, etc.); personal care items (bars of soap, toothbrush, brush, wash cloths, etc.); other small toys/activities; clothing items/accessories. 3. Finally, include a personal note. The personal note is an awesome opportunity to tell them you care about them, are praying for them, and that there’s a God who loves them. It is fun to include a picture of you/your family, your email address, or any contact information you feel comfortable sharing, as it’s possible to have ongoing communication with them! Candlewood is generously providing the boxes and covering the shipping donation for the first 1000 boxes, so all you have to do is fill the box! Learn more about Operation Christmas Child here https://lnkd.in/gHbEBwcq ** Please remember to bring your shoeboxes to church on Collection Day - Sunday, November 24.

The Christmas season isn’t just about decorations and festivities; it’s the perfect time to nurture empathy and kindness in students. Here are 4 meaningful activities you can introduce to your students to cultivate compassion and understanding: 🧡 Secret Santa Acts of Kindness Instead of traditional gifts, have students perform random acts of kindness for their assigned "Secret Santa." This could include writing heartfelt notes or helping with chores 💙 Holiday Donation Drive Organize a classroom drive where students collect items like toys, clothes, or food for those in need. 🧡 Storytime with a Lesson: Read or watch stories about Christmas that discuss empathy, kindness, etc. Discuss the characters' choices and how empathy plays a role. 💙 Empathy in Action: Role-Playing Scenarios: Create scenarios where students must step into someone else's shoes, such as acting out a homeless person's perspective during Christmas or a friend who can’t afford gifts. What’s one act of kindness you think schools should adopt during Christmas? Share in the comments! Do you need engaging social media campaigns that resonate with your audience!
