If not me, then who? If not now, then when? These are simple but important questions for aspiring entrepreneurs to answer in order understand “why me? And why now? I ran a workshop last month for a group of entrepreneurs all about the power of your origin story. Often your background leaves clues explaining why you are well suited to solve specific problems. When you have a deep rooted reason, you are more likely to have drive and perseverance. Why now represents critical thinking around timing. Is there a reason why it makes sense to pursue your idea now? Was there new legislation? Was there a market shift? Has new technology became more accessible? Answering these questions helps aspiring entrepreneurs validate whether or not to start a business. The same can be appied to operators making career decisions on a promotion or new job.
