Fat Daddy’s Rock & Roll Chronicles Vol. 18 Don’t be a Monkey’s Butt Ok, this is a stretch from Rock & Roll so be gentle in your judgement, but the other day I was watching a rerun of the “Reba” show featuring “Big Red” Reba McEntire. The episode was entitled “Reba the Realtor” and Reba was building a career as a realtor and her first listing was Brock’s townhome “bachelor pad”. Brock is Reba’s ex-husband - a rocky relationship to say the least. Brock had reasons why he really did not want to sell his “townhome” and he fired Reba…after she called him a “Monkey’s Butt” not once, but three times. After Brock fired Reba she reminded him of the three rules of Real Estate - “Don’t work for a Monkey’s Butt! Don’t work for a Monkey’s Butt! Don’t work for a Monkey’s Butt!” You could argue that those same three rules apply to the profession of sales. “Don’t work for a Monkey’s Butt! Don’t work for a Monkey’s Butt! Don’t work for a Monkey’s Butt!” Unfortunately many sales professionals are forced to work for sales managers whose only skill is reading reporting from CRM programs like Salesforce. This micro-management strips away the entrepreneurial skills, work ethic and mind set that makes successful Sales Professionals…successful! Good sales managers are resources to their sales team asking daily “What can I do to help my team be better…perform better…and live better”. If you are a sales manager not doing this then unfortunately you probably fall into one of the three rules of Real Estate! Thank you for reading and if you enjoy my chronicles please hit the like button, or share with your friends and colleagues. I am also available for motivational speaking engagements. Please email me at rockinfatdaddy@gmail.com for more information. Remember, as a Sales Professional you are the GREAT AMERICAN THUNDER on which this nation ROLLS, because nothing happens until something is SOLD! So quit reading my chronicles and get out there and sell something! https://lnkd.in/emMBKQMq
