Dreamy Leaves Size: 18” x 20” Medium: Ceramic (Raku) I am excited to share one of my creations, Dreamy Leaves, a piece that captures the beauty of nature through the timeless ancient technique of Raku ceramic. With its intricate details and organic forms, this artwork brings the ethereal quality of leaves to life, blending the raw texture of ceramic with a dream-like aesthetic. Using the traditional Raku firing process, the piece evokes a sense of movement and natural fluidity, showcasing both craftsmanship and creativity. The delicate interplay of colour and texture adds depth, creating a dynamic work of art that reflects my passion for blending natural inspiration with artistic innovation. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐡: 𝐀 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐜𝐞 Portrays an intricately designed artistic depiction of a 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐡. The #artwork appears to feature rich #golden embellishments forming the body, stem, and pipe, with a parrot-shaped design integrated into the structure. The #decoration is further enhanced by embedded colourful gemstones, giving the piece an ornate and regal appearance. The hookah rests on a decorative red base with intricate patterns. The style suggests a traditional or #cultural artistic influence, potentially inspired by South Asian or Middle Eastern designs. 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐭: The incorporation of the parrot as part of the hookah's design could symbolize themes of beauty, vibrancy, or connection with nature, adding a layer of cultural or symbolic meaning to the piece. 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦💠 Pottery making is an #ancient and #fascinating art involving several steps. Here is a list of the main stages involved in the creation of ceramic works: 1️⃣ 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐲: There are various types of clay, each with specific characteristics. (red clay, white clay and stoneware) 2️⃣ 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠: This is where the actual creation begins. The clay is modelled by hand or on a lathe to obtain the desired shape. 3️⃣ 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠: After modelling, work is done on the surface to make it smooth and uniform. 4️⃣ 𝐃𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠: Modelled objects must dry slowly to avoid cracks or deformations. 5️⃣ 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: This stage may involve incisions, reliefs or the application of coloured glazes. 6️⃣ 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠: Objects are fired in a kiln to harden the clay. This initial firing removes water and makes the objects more resistant. 7️⃣ 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠: Glazes or paints are applied to give the objects colour and shine. Finally the 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠, where the objects are fired again at specific temperatures to complete the process🔥. Speed... ⏩ When it comes to details, I'm with Mies. 🙌 In jewelry design, the balance between extravagance and simplicity often defines the soul of a piece and I often find myself aligned with the architectural philosophies of Mies van der Rohe. Mies’ observations on the impact of car travel on our perception of architecture profoundly resonate with me. He noted that as we began to experience the city at the speed of a car, our perception of architectural details underwent a significant transformation. This shift towards faster, more dynamic encounters with our surroundings necessitated a move from intricately ornamented facades to more streamlined, essential details that could be appreciated at a glance. This evolution mirrors the journey of jewelry design in a remarkable way. Just as architecture shifted its focus towards the essential to adapt to the changing pace of life, so too has jewelry design evolved. We’ve moved from the heavily ornamented and intricate, to designs that embrace minimalism, where every line, texture, and material is chosen for its ability to convey meaning and beauty with clarity and simplicity. In my designs, I strive to capture this same essence. Creating pieces that resonate with the dynamism of modern life. Designs that are not just to be seen, but to be experienced, engaging, and impactful….at any speed. 💕

The Commemorative Collection of Aesthetic Ideologies 4 These artworks were created during a time period of 8 months, with vision, planning, meticulously structuring and careful execution. „I am interested in the constantly evolving hierarchies of objects, styles and cultural worth. My work engages in dialogues about display and value alongside narratives of possession, ownership and cultural desire. My work seeks to respond to these narratives mainly through constructed spaces using models, miniature dioramas and computer-generated virtual interiors and objects. In both private and public spaces, display functions to denote hierarchy and worth. From the private universe of the collector, to contemporary examples of the concept of Gesamtkuntwerk, my work experiments with these constantly evolving hierarchies of objects, and the way in which objects, artefacts and art are commodified and fetishised. The theme of decontextualisation is central to my work and I am particularly concerned with the way in which objects are represented in fragmentary ways, removed from their original context through classification systems, digital reproduction, appropriation, miniaturisation and displacement. Related themes include the idea of value and authenticity; copies, and reproduction; cross pollination of modernist art and decorative forms; the role of collecting (both private and institutional), and the tools of display including the plinth, framing, and the gallery itself. Much of my early work (‘Deconstruction Construction Manual’, ‘Plaster Casts’, and ‘Museum’) was concerned with the idea of authenticity and representation. These works presented models including the plinth, the plaster cast, the vitrine and the miniature as a way to call into question the role of imitation and engender a dialogue about the way in which substitution effects narrative as well as concepts of value and authenticity. These themes were later expanded through a series of virtual rooms that included digital reconstructions of interiors that no longer exist and collections that have long since been dispersed (‘Horace Walpole’s Paper House’, ‘Goncourt’s Junk Collection’, ‘Sir John Soane’s Model Room’ and ‘Andre Breton’s Collectors House’). Initially influenced by the Novel ‘Against the Grain (A Rebours)’, in which JK Huysmans describes how the main character employs his collection to stimulate his imagination towards creating an ideal private universe or dreamworld, this series of works focused on how individual collectors use their collections and the private space of the interior to create what is essentially an ideal and illusionary universe. These simulacrums of lost and idealised worlds investigated both the artificiality of value and served as a retort to the artificiality of narratives told in the context of display.” Keith Turner Fine artist, concept: Keith Turner https://lnkd.in/e5fCgrGF 3d artist: Laszlo Ary https://lnkd.in/dGTXcFS3

Khorasani carpet, a unique combination of Persian art and feeling; It can be said that all cities in Persia have recognized the arts and crafts of carpet weaving as handicrafts in their lives. The Khorasani people are among the tribes that weave beautiful and authentic carpets for domestic and export use. The art of carpet weaving has a history of more than 1500 years in the Khorasan region and is constantly expanding and progressing. If we want to take a historical look at the Khorasan carpet, it must be said that this unique art has spread from Tabriz to Khorasan and has been lasting untill now. As a matter of fact, the Khorasani carpet is a unique example of the fusion of Persian art and feeling. One of the most important visual effects that distinguish Khorasani carpets from other carpets is the prominence of the main design of the carpet. This protrusion caused the surface of the Khorasani carpet to be uneven, and it is called an uneven top. In fact, the prominence of the main design from the small motifs makes this work of art really alluring. The dominant colors of woven carpets in Khorasan are baked blue and red. These carpets are so-called micro-weave and they mostly use lach and toranj designs and the motifs of flowers and plants, birds and animals stand out in the middle of the main design. In general, it can be concluded that carpet weaving is a unique art for each region and an inseparable part of the culture of Khorasan region of Iran as well as other regions of Persia. What an inspiration Fleurs de Villes was! The exhibition was a stunning reminder of the incredible power of creativity. Walking through the displays, I was captivated by the imaginative use of flowers to create something both beautiful and unexpected. Each floral masterpiece told a unique story, capturing the essence of nature in a way that deeply resonated with my own passion for art, design, and creativity. As an artist, I’m always searching for fresh ways to express creativity and infuse colour into the world. Seeing how the floral artists at Fleurs de Villes pushed the boundaries of traditional design was incredibly inspiring. It mirrored how I approach my own work—whether through bold colours or innovative designs, I strive to create art that surprises and delights, much like the floral couture on display. The exhibition wasn’t just a feast for the eyes; it was a powerful reminder of the limitless possibilities that creativity offers. It reaffirmed my belief that art, in any form, has the ability to transform and elevate the everyday. For me, that’s the essence of being an artist—drawing inspiration from the world around me and turning it into something vibrant and memorable. Fleurs de Villes beautifully illustrated how creativity can blossom in the most unexpected ways, leaving me inspired and wondering—will this spark a new creation? Which floral design wins your vote and will it be the winner of this year's Sydney Fleurs de Villes Voyage Exhibition? Let me know in the comments below. #Fleursdevilles #FloralArt #InfinitePossibilites
