Speed... ⏩ When it comes to details, I'm with Mies. 🙌 In jewelry design, the balance between extravagance and simplicity often defines the soul of a piece and I often find myself aligned with the architectural philosophies of Mies van der Rohe. Mies’ observations on the impact of car travel on our perception of architecture profoundly resonate with me. He noted that as we began to experience the city at the speed of a car, our perception of architectural details underwent a significant transformation. This shift towards faster, more dynamic encounters with our surroundings necessitated a move from intricately ornamented facades to more streamlined, essential details that could be appreciated at a glance. This evolution mirrors the journey of jewelry design in a remarkable way. Just as architecture shifted its focus towards the essential to adapt to the changing pace of life, so too has jewelry design evolved. We’ve moved from the heavily ornamented and intricate, to designs that embrace minimalism, where every line, texture, and material is chosen for its ability to convey meaning and beauty with clarity and simplicity. In my designs, I strive to capture this same essence. Creating pieces that resonate with the dynamism of modern life. Designs that are not just to be seen, but to be experienced, engaging, and impactful….at any speed. 💕

Timeless Design: The Tulip Rings While revisiting some of my past projects, I came across the Tulip Rings from 2016—and it reminded me why timeless design matters. Inspired by the effortless elegance of Danish design, the Tulip Ring reflects a philosophy of subtle beauty and minimalism. Its soft, tendril-like bands gently surround the finger, mirroring natural curves, while it echoes the layered grace of petals. In high-polished 925 silver or 18k gold, it catches the light with quiet brilliance, embodying the “less is more” approach. Even today, this design feels just as relevant and modern as it did when it was created. It’s a testament to how thoughtful design can transcend time, blending natural inspiration with enduring aesthetics. This rediscovery made me reflect on the power of timeless design—not just in jewelry but in all creative fields.
