Montagu Evans provided heritage advice for the Applicant, led by Dr Timur Tatlioglu and Helen Marrison. Timur, Partner and Head of Historic Environment and Townscape, added, “Historic country houses are a type of asset that are increasingly requiring radical yet sensitive solutions to secure their long-term conservation. In this case, the conversion of Silwood Park for 21 apartments was informed by our scholarly approach to understanding the significance of the listed building. We then assisted the local authority through design development to balance the inevitable harm associated with converting the building with the demonstrable heritage benefits that will be delivered by the proposals.
