⭐ It’s always gratifying to get positive feedback from a customer! ⭐ ♻ Did you know that 100% of the wood we collect is reused or recycled? None of it goes to landfill or incineration. 🔨 After our timber collections, the wood is stripped of any nails, screws or other hardware before assessing its suitability for resale or use in one of our Touch Wood commissions – that accounts for 72% of the wood we receive. As for that remaining 28%, it goes away to be turned into chipboard or used for animal bedding. ♻ Touch Wood and EMERGE Recycling – an ethical and local solution for your waste. #EMERGETouchWood #EMERGERecycling #RecycledWood #RepurposedTimber #SalvagedWood #Sustainability #Recycle #EcoFriendly

If a banana duct taped to a wall can sell for millions, I thought i'd jump on the band wagon... any takers?! 🤑 All jokes aside, you don't need to break the bank to buy something that will actually help make a difference to our planet. Each Dopper bottle purchased can save 104 single use plastic bottles from being used. That seems like money well spent to me. The banana on the other hand, well, no comment 🥴 DM me for more info on our Dopper Range! #Sustainability #Dopper #BananaGate #Promo #Eco #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #GreenLiving #SustainableLiving #ClimateAction #Environment #GoGreen #Trending #ViralPost #SocialMediaTrends

New waste program where you need to "unlock" containers to use them. 🔒What do you think happens? A bit of backstory... the local government implemented new waste containers that require you to unlock 4 out of 5 containers in order to dispose of your waste. The glass bin is the only one without a lock. Because apparently that category has the highest rates of recycling and doesn't need any improvement. The other 4 - general garbage, organics, plastics and paper - all have a lock which require a key card or phone app to open - both of which require residency. This town is a beach town. That means a lot of non-residents visit that don't have access to locked containers. I'm sure you can guess where this is heading. (Too bad the people who implemented it didn't guess the same!) Many people just leave their garbage on the street or they put all their trash - no matter what it is - in the open bin: glass. And many times there are bins that are supposed to be locked that are actually open. So it's common to have the 5 bins, with glass, plastic and paper open, and garbage and organics locked. Guess again what happens. Yes, all garbage, no matter what it is, goes in the unlocked bins. Or, those trying to do the right thing leave their garbage on the street in front of the bins, leaving it for town workers to open the bins and put it in. Which leaves a mess of the entire bin being trash and not recycled as it's now mixed, and a lot of trash on the street. This is defeating the entire purpose of dividing up waste at home. Although the system was implemented with the intention of actually making recycling rates higher. Talk about a disconnect from reality. It's a disaster. Glad I take the time to have 5 bins in my house to separate my garbage, only to have it go totally to waste once it gets to the street. (Read with sarcasm!) Anyone else have a "great" system like this? Photo credit: town hall #sustainability (not really), #recycling (not really), #garbage (pretty much this)

Did you know, during the holiday season Australians generate over 30% more waste. Every year in Australia, nearly 5 million tonnes of food are thrown away, and we use approximately 150,000 kilometres of wrapping paper during the festive season. The vast majority of wrapping paper sold around the world cannot be recycled or composted, and thus ends up in landfills. Here are some ideas from our COSpedia article for recycling or reusing your holiday wrapping paper this season.#WasteReduction #FestiveSeason #WrappingPaper https://hubs.ly/Q02YRRG70
