Returning to the core definition became a priority as we launched a campaign for our new revitalized and transformative building design package. In recent decades, the definitions of what a building should be have changed based on factors such as intended use, environment, and sustainability, among others. These factors have led professionals to have similar or contrasting definitions based on their expertise and experience. Bringing the Sydney Harbour Bridge to Life! Excited to showcase our journey of creating a detailed 1:500 hand model of the Sydney Harbour Bridge as part of our Architectural Building Construction & Material course at Viva School of Architecture. This project was a collaborative effort by Ravi Mistry, Yovanik Mistry, Rutwik Patil, Khushi Raut, and Sara Jose, guided by professor MOHSIN KHAN and Professor Pratik Katalkar . A real honour to co-host this event for the second year with my partner in #carbonoffsets, the wonderful Gareth Thomson. A few key takeaways for me: 1. Events like this are important. 2. If the only thing that happens at this and from this event is a #collision of people who want to learn, share, be engaged, I am ok with that. 3. As we heard from Michael Hay, 'just showing up' is half the battle when it comes to making positive change in our #communities. 4. Moving the #sustainability needle does not need #earthshattering #policy changes or unrealistic targets, but could being with simple acts such as choosing to #walk or #bike to work, taking #publictransit or reducing home energy needs by reducing heating or cooling demands. 5. We continue to lack representation from key elements of our #industry; that being #realestate professionals and #contractors. I hope to see you there next year! Cheers
