The funniest and most common question my mentees have thrown at me this year is: "Why don’t you charge us?" 😅 At DANSTRUCT 18, we already offer structured training programs. However this year, I had the urge to do more. I committed to carving out more time for hands-on sessions with a handful of students and professionals who needed that extra guidance and mentorship. I understand wanting to dive into practice but constantly hitting roadblocks 🙇🏾 or not having someone to steer you in the right direction is frustrating. And honestly, it’s been such a rewarding experience ⭐. I’ve had the chance to help mentees tackle academic research, personal projects, and even real-world projects. The idea was simple: keep myself approachable 🍃. • Got stuck on a design? Just hit me up. We’d schedule a session, brainstorm together, and work through it. • Having trouble with an application? Same drill—let’s figure it out. • Still stuck figuring out the software? Hang tight—I’ll send you a quick recording. • Need more resources or a little guidance? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! It’s been amazing to see the results this year 🎉. I firmly believe people are blessed by how much they pour into others, and this year has only reinforced this belief. There’s so much untapped potential out there, and sometimes all it takes is a little guidance to bring it to light. Huge shoutout to DANSTRUCT 18 for providing the platform, logistics, and resources to make this happen. And guess what? There’s more to come! If you’d like to join our community, I'm a message away here on LinkedIn 👋🏾. Or better yet, hop on our WhatsApp community 💬 and get access to tons of resources. • In building development, two structures can look nearly identical on the surface, but the value of the investment behind them can tell a different story. As the image illustrates, two owners may begin with similar building designs, but their outcomes diverge due to the level of investment made. Whether in the choice of materials, foundation strength, or long-term sustainability, the differences in these buildings become apparent as time passes. At DANSTRUCT 18, we emphasize the importance of making informed, quality investments in every phase of building development, ensuring that our clients reap the benefits for years to come. #BuildingBetter #Investment #Architecture #Construction #Sustainability

B.Eng, Civil Engineering || BIM Enthusiast || QAQC

I recently completed the DANSTRUCT 18 Internship Extension Program, and it was an incredible experience that significantly enhanced my understanding of the fundamental concepts of civil engineering design. This opportunity deepened my knowledge of structural engineering and contemporary industry practices particularly within the BIM environment. Using the Autodesk Revit and Robot structural analysis hand-in-hand to model RC structures, analyze different load cases and geometries, detail steel reinforcements, was awesome. It was an experience that greatly expanded my technical skills. The powerful 3D rebar tool in Revit was uniquely fascinating and instrumental in making the design process more engaging and the documentation more presentable and communicative. We also used tools like spreadsheets, Bluebeam Revu, and Slack, which were essential for collaboration and productivity throughout the program. The support and mentorship provided by Ayomide Akinrinade throughout the program was just outstanding 🙇♂️🙌 His patience and willingness to address every challenge or question, from the simplest to the most complex, was truly inspiring. This same spirit of support and collaboration was also evident among the interns, including Abdulmusawwir Imam, Unimuke Apuye, Sejoro Stephen Asu, Daniel Bazim and many others, who contributed to a positive learning environment. For young professionals seeking to gain more knowledge in structural engineering especially within the BIM space, I highly recommend DANSTRUCT 18 💯 I really look forward to contributing to the AEC industry and beyond.

  • Did you know there's a difference between Building Drawings and Construction Drawings? 🏗️📐 Building Drawings focuses on the design and layout of a structure, including elements like floor plans and elevations. They visually present an overview of the project, detailing its requirements and estimated costs. These drawings are also submitted with other documents to obtain construction permits depending on the discipline they were designed for. 🏢📝 Construction Drawings, on the other hand, provide more detailed instructions and specifications for building the structure, covering materials, techniques, and precise measurements. 📏🔧 Here are some common examples of Construction Drawings: ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS 🏛️ An architectural drawing is a detailed representation of a building's design, showing elements like floor plans, elevations, and sections to convey the project's layout and aesthetics. In a construction drawing, specific details such as dimensions, materials, construction techniques, and structural specifications must be provided to guide the building process. These drawings are typically created by architects. 📐📏 STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS 🗼 Structural drawings provide detailed plans for constructing a building's framework, including elements like foundation plans, framing plans, and load details to ensure stability and safety. They include specifics on dimensions, materials, and construction techniques required for the structural components. These drawings are typically created by structural engineers. 🔩📊 MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING DRAWINGS ⚙️💡🚰 MEP drawings detail the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within a building, showing layouts and specifications for HVAC, electrical wiring, and plumbing installations. They include dimensions, materials, and installation techniques necessary for these systems. MEP drawings are typically created by MEP engineers. 🔧⚡🚿 Effective coordination of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings among other types of drawings is essential to prevent discrepancies and conflicts, as these documents are often created by different professionals or various companies. 🤝🔍 Regular communication and integrated project management are crucial to aligning designs and specifications, ensuring a smoother construction process and a successful project outcome. 📈✨ At DANSTRUCT 18, we specialize in ensuring detailed coordination between construction drawings of different disciplines and delivering them seamlessly as part of our DS18 ORIGINAL campaign. 🏆🔗 For more information about our services, follow us and send us a message 👋🏾. #ds18original #aec #architecture #engineering #construction

Happy to Announce that i have completed my internship at DANSTRUCT 18 . I was randomly scrolling on LinkedIn back in February and everything that I have been trying to learn relating to BIM as a structural engineer comprised of it. It has been a thrilling experience that has changed my mindset in a huge way. I have never used Revit to its full capacity like this before and it is going to be hard to go back to using AutoCAD as far as structural detailing is concerned.Revit and Robot structural analysis are Essential BIM tools that make structural detailing more Presentable and give a full conceptual design of what is expected. as always I have to give kudos to Ayomide Akinrinade for being a great instructor to me. It has been a hell of an experience and now it is time for me to make a difference.
