I always loved being invited to speak with the up-and-coming entrepreneurs from my alma mater Morehouse College. Doing my best to leave some nuggets of wisdom I gave them a real run through of Entrepreneurship, creative media and finance. I remember being that age, sitting in those seats so life is full circle. Thank you Lavonya Jones for the invite to speak Morehouse Business Association . A few suggestions I left with the group: • The people in this room are who you will start your first companies with, network across • Get internships, learn the skillset, you have 3 months to prove value and create an impact in that company, think outside the box • Make as many mistakes as you can now, people will give you grace, and you have time to come back • The AUC is your first customers, clients, and audience. If you can’t sell your product in this environment with over 15,000 college students and the internet you may want to rethink your goals •Utilize the facilities along with your teachers to build your businesses, it’s their job to help you succeed, turn a professor into an investor •Nothing you learn in the books can really prepare you for the real world, trial and error is the best teacher

Hello, LinkedIn Community! I’m Sabin Poudel, currently pursuing an MBA in Healthcare Management at York St John University. My journey has been transformative—exploring healthcare systems while bridging business and healthcare. Instead of a traditional internship, I embraced entrepreneurship through the Enterprise Academy under Natalia Nicholson’s guidance. This led to my project: "Customize Your Traditional Dress." About "Customize Your Traditional Dress" This initiative blends tradition with individuality, tailoring traditional attire to unique preferences while emphasizing: Sustainability: Eco-friendly materials and packaging. Cultural Preservation: Celebrating local craftsmanship. Personal Expression: Modernizing traditional attire. Key Insights and Solutions 1. Customer Needs: Personalization and cultural relevance. Seamless customization and eco-friendly packaging. 2. Challenges: High costs, poor quality, and limited accessibility. 3. Proposed Solutions: Affordable, high-quality customization. Promoting local artisans and sustainable practices. Lessons from the Enterprise Academy This journey honed my leadership, customer-centricity, problem-solving, and commitment to sustainability. I’m grateful for this opportunity to grow and connect with like-minded professionals! #Entrepreneurship #Sustainability #CulturalPreservation #Leadership

👏 "Embrace failure instead of dreading it," says Michael Kubba, a seasoned expert in product development, engineering, and manufacturing operations. Michael encourages us to reframe the way we think about failure, seeing it not as a setback, but as a natural and essential part of our growth and progress. He emphasizes that every misstep is an opportunity to learn, adapt, and ultimately become stronger. In the complex world of global regulations and business, the ability to navigate failures with resilience is crucial for long-term success. [Growth through Failure] Michael shares: "Failure isn't the end—it's a step on the journey toward improvement. By embracing failure, we open ourselves up to new possibilities and innovations. It's about learning from what didn't work and using that knowledge to move forward smarter and more prepared. Remember, the greatest successes often come from the lessons learned through failure." If I could go back and talk to my 22- or 24-year-old self, I'd pass on some advice from Saam that has really stuck with me and the students I've worked with, especially those aiming to become founders. Seek out non-linear learning opportunities. He describes a former manager framing out how most jobs offer a year's worth of learning for a year's worth of work. However, good jobs offer three years' worth of learning in the same timeframe. And in exceptional jobs, you can gain a decade's worth of knowledge in just one year. Seek out companies that are growing so rapidly that they need to expand everyone's roles and responsibilities. You can find more insights from Saam here: https://lnkd.in/gPdx2qQD I genuinely believe that startups offer the most significant potential for non-linear growth. They provide unique ownership opportunities that often go beyond years of experience or job titles. Please share our link with any students seeking internships or full-time positions at startups. https://lnkd.in/ggAJ7YsF

#NationalInternDay On this National Intern Day, very best wishes for success and transformation to all #interns including my current #GenZ Rutgers University School of Communication and Information students who are interning this summer at agencies, corporations, brands, nonprofits, small businesses, startups and organizations of all types and sizes. In my first book that I authored, 101 Lessons They Never Taught You In College, that was inspired by my Rutgers University students, I shared this advice. "You can never have too much experience. Once you get your first taste of experience - start pursuing work experience that is relevant to the industry you would like to find a fulltime job in. Along the way, expand your professional network any time you can." https://lnkd.in/giRWUzaX
