Let's talk about housing insecurity. 🏠 What does this mean? It means inadequate housing, frequent moves, couch surfing and more. With the soaring cost of rent in the Valley and most individuals living paycheck to paycheck, far too many are just a small financial burden away from losing the roof over their heads. Our Workforce Villages program is bridging the gap and empowering individuals on their journey to self-sufficiency. Our 90-day program offers full-time employed individuals a modern apartment and encourages them to save 70-80% of their income. But that's not all—we also provide personal finance and meal budgeting classes, equipping participants with essential skills for maintaining independence. 💪 Together, we can help individuals secure quality housing, reduce or even eliminate the need for government assistance, and lift up our entire community. 👉 Apply today: If you or someone you know is employed and struggling to find secure housing, apply now at https://buff.ly/49GglCe. 📝 👉 Support our cause: Interested in supporting this and other programs like this? You can donate at https://buff.ly/479DTNY and rest assured that $.91 of every dollar goes directly to these vital programs, allowing you to directly help our community. #StJosephTheWorker #SJW #Nonprofit #HousingSolutions #PhoenixHousing #EmploymentServices #TransformingLives #Donate

Our focus is on the "missing middle"—working individuals who don't earn enough and must rely on Universal Credit or grants. Often overlooked and pushed into temporary accommodation, they aren't prioritised by councils. This is where charities step in, and where we see a unique opportunity for the private sector. By offering secure, social housing for employed tenants, referenced by agency-accredited independent referencing and third-party guaranteed, we create a win-win situation. The missing middle is at the heart of our efforts in third sector bridging, landlord services, and the private rental market. Together, we can provide stability and security for those who need it most. 🏡 📞 Contact us to learn more! #TheMissingMiddle #SocialHousing #CommunitySupport #HousingSolutions #PrivateRentalMarket #SecureTenancy

Addressing America's affordable housing crisis is a pressing challenge that affects millions of individuals and families across the nation. The escalating costs of housing, combined with stagnant wages and rising living expenses, have pushed many low- and moderate-income households into precarious financial situations. Families struggling to afford housing often face difficult choices, sacrificing essential aspects of life needed to survive, which can lead to long-term negative impacts on their well-being and that of their children. By prioritizing affordable housing, we can create a foundation for stability, allowing families to focus on opportunities for growth and development. To effectively tackle this crisis, a collaborative approach is necessary, involving government, non-profits, and private sectors. Thankfully our Hudson County Community has those within it advocating for affordable housing. We are honoring multiple advocates at our upcoming fundraiser cocktail party, “An Evening of Promise Gala: Bridging A Better Future Together!” Help us combat the ongoing shortage of affordable housing by attending our upcoming event and supporting its honorees! You can purchase your tickets via the following link: https://lnkd.in/ebufN3SY Remember, together WE can, so what are you waiting for? Join us in creating brighter futures for the marginalized housing-insecure families of our community by buying your tickets today! P.S. Want to show your support, but can't attend? We would be SO grateful for a donation in any amount. Today is #GivingTuesday—a day to reflect on generosity and giving back. It always leaves me with tough questions: Which organization should I donate to? How much is enough? Who is truly making an impact? If I’ve learned one thing from speaking with thousands of people on the receiving end of aid, it’s that 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘹 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘮𝘴. Well-meaning interventions can miss the mark—or even have unintended consequences. It’s enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed and not give to charity at all. Yet, these questions matter. (Not least to my friends and family outside the humanitairan sector who, like clockwork, ask me about different aid agencies every year when we gather for the holidays...) So this year, I’ve decided to come prepared. Here are my posts on 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹: 1. Avoid Mega-charities: https://shorturl.at/bv8Bb 2. Expect high quality: https://shorturl.at/DDE1F 3. Give against the flow: https://shorturl.at/8XXJf 4. Give more: https://shorturl.at/PqSFd 5. Give more than money: https://shorturl.at/eeAz2 6. Focus your time on what you're good at: https://shorturl.at/lU9D5 I’d love to hear from you, too. What’s your advice for effective giving based on your own experience? Which books / thinkers on the subject do you recommend? Happy #givingTuesday! 🥳

The average yearly amount people donate is around $700. Tell me - what's your favorite cause? #nonprofit #economy #workforce source: Tech Report https://lnkd.in/e2QV3fbs
