I recently “enjoyed” a trip around Central Europe - Pt.2
I don’t know if you saw – I actually went to SMX, mhmm, got the badge & everything
And in doing so, managed to review a handful of Europe’s finest (and not so finest)
While attending SMX Munich, believe me when I say, the “Efficiency” switches were going off in my brain – going off like a switchboard at a Taylor Swift concert ticketing system place thing actually. Yeah that’s right!
…
Now putting that aside for a moment.
When it comes to travelling with low budget airlines, the INEFFICENCY switches were popping off too 🤢
And, I know LinkedIn is a professional platform & we all want to keep it that way. However, LinkedIn is also a very good way to contact businesses – (plus the long-form format helps too)
*clears throat*

I AM NEVER USING YOUR AIRLINE(s) AGAIN IN MY LIFE.
…
Now putting that aside for a moment.
There are many efficiencies across Central Europe – away from my homeland of Britain.
The digital displays with real-time destination/time info in German trains are particularly *chef kiss*
There is a clinical efficiency & cleanliness to the way Germany operates – which ultimately, shouldn’t be surprising when I own a #VW & have done for the past 3 years (and frankly, can’t imagine owning any other car model any time soon)
When something goes wrong in Germany, you know about it - which was why it was the talk of the town that #Lufthansa had a strike on while I was visiting – quite the kerfuffle indeed!
The Dutch can be VERY laidback – perhaps too laidback at times
But it's VERY friendly & welcoming, and I see why the Netherlands, and Amsterdam specifically is such a popular place to live & visit – perhaps I will too one day 😊
PSA: Anyone travelling to #AmsterdamSchipholairport? Please check the map of the airport before flying – you’re very welcome.
All in all, I returned via the old faithful of #BA ✈
And what a joy it is / was to be back!
Things make sense again...🙏🏻
Before this ordeal was over, there was one FINAL BOSS 👺
The MAG (Airports Group) car park - Jet Parks 3
As I had extended my stay 3 additional days, I had incurred an additional charge of £45. I was struggling with this outcome, but then, the most heart-warming thing happened…MAG Customer Service reduced the charge by £15, making it a £30 fee!
I was left stunned for a moment 😶
After playing a very close game between luck & risk throughout this entire trip - the very end of the journey I was (finally) met with some customer service - a company that had helped one of their own customers. A company that had cared.
And, it felt fitting for it to be back in Manchester ❤️
Because Manchester is the greatest city on earth & I won’t hear anyone say anything different. Ever.
Give me bad weather & sense - any . day . of . the . week !
P.S. I have a date with some low budget airlines…wish me luck!

3moDear All I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction and sense of having been wronged by your company regarding the unjustified and exorbitant charge levied against me. It is evident that your company is attempting to exploit the good faith and lack of awareness of its customers, imposing abusive and unreasonable fees for a vehicle that was delivered in a condition far from the one agreed upon.Instead of the **brand-new car** that was expected, I was provided with a **used vehicle already exhibiting numerous damages**. This leads me to conclude that your company is acting in **bad faith**, seeking to **extort customers with baseless charges** for damages that were clearly **pre-existing**.Such conduct is not only **absurd** but also **unacceptable**, as it demonstrates a clear intention to **capitalize on previously inflicted damages** and **shift blame onto new renters**, despite the vehicle’s poor condition at the time of delivery. Such practices are **exploitative** and **utterly unacceptable**. I trust this matter will be addressed with the seriousness it deserves, and I expect a prompt resolution without further harassment or unjustified claims. Sincerely,
