🎶Lessons for My Kids: From a rock concert 🎶 Recently, I had the incredible experience of taking my middle and youngest kids to two concerts in three days. The first show was packed with 1500 people, hot, and overwhelming. We learned a lot about navigating crowded spaces, especially for my kids who deal with anxiety. Teaching them how to take up space confidently was a valuable lesson. By the second concert, things were a bit easier with only 500 people in the venue. We found ourselves just three rows from the stage, which was amazing! While waiting, the audience was sharing cat pictures—a heartwarming moment that quickly turned into an exercise of lessons learned. A man tried to push past us, using the cute cat distraction to edge closer to the stage. My youngest, a 14-year-old girl, felt uncomfortable with him pressing against her. We did a quick switch, and I took her spot. For 15 minutes, I stood stronger than ever, holding our space against this persistent intruder. At the end of the show, I had my kid grab a picture. This was AFTER he stepped back and gave me my space back - though still a bit too close for comfort—even for me, a 48-year-old woman! Here are three key lessons I taught my kids that night.
