Simplyhealth’s Post

Back pain is one of the leading causes of workplace sickness and with 2.8 million people off work (Office of National Statistics, April 24), it is critical employers support their workers to prevent and manage pain. Our research shows back pain affects three in ten (27%) of us, so employers with desk-based staff and working from home policies must promote a culture that encourages frequent bursts of movement in the workplace (such as walking meetings and regular breaks), which can boost mood, improve fitness, strengthen muscles, manage and prevent pain. Around a fifth of workers say they would benefit from access to a physiotherapist – which is no surprise with over 300,000 on a waitlist for NHS community muscle and joint (musculoskeletal) services. Employers can safeguard productivity and help staff by providing low cost, whole of workforce health plans, providing access to early diagnosis, support and treatment physiotherapy solutions to reduce the long-term risk of illness or injury.

If Carlsberg did exercise plans, I'm pretty sure it would just be walking
