Harvesting Success: How to Keep Your Restaurant Team Thriving This Autumn As the crisp autumn air fills with the scents of pumpkin spice and hearty stews, restaurants gear up for one of the busiest seasons of the year. It's a time when diners flock to their favorite eateries, eager to enjoy comforting meals and warm hospitality. However, amidst this bustling period, restaurant managers face the dual challenge of maintaining exceptional service while preventing the dreaded turnover. The secret ingredient to a thriving restaurant during the busy autumn season? A happy, well-staffed team. Studies show that businesses with low employee turnover rates not only provide superior customer service, but also enjoy a 25% increase in profitability. Investing in your staff's satisfaction and professional growth is not just good practice—it's good business. Here are three essential strategies to keep your team engaged and your business booming: Training and Development: Equip your team with the skills they need to excel. This not only boosts their confidence, but also enhances the service they deliver. A well-trained team is a knowledgeable team, ready to provide the exceptional dining experience your guests expect. Recognition and Rewards: Acknowledge the hard work and dedication of your staff. Simple gestures of appreciation can significantly boost morale and foster loyalty. Consider implementing an employee of the month program or offering bonuses for outstanding performance. Open Communication: Foster a culture of transparency and open dialogue. Encourage feedback and be receptive to your team's needs. When employees feel heard, they're more likely to remain committed to their roles. By focusing on these strategies, you'll not only navigate the autumn rush with ease, but also lay the foundation for a stronger, more cohesive team. Remember, a satisfied team is the backbone of a successful restaurant, driving both customer satisfaction and business growth. Let's make this autumn a season of both culinary and team success! 🍂🥂 #NorthDakota #SDjobs #SouthDakota #MTjobs #Montana #WYjobs #Wyoming #GeckoHospitality #WereHiring #LetGoAndLetGecko #GrowYourBusiness #Business #RecruitmentAgency #NowHiring #restaurant #foodservice #opportunity #hoteliers #hotelmanagement

#Scheduling #manpower #staffrequests #restaurant #hospitality #management #hospitalitymanagement Scheduling: The eternal challenge of a Restaurant Manager Whether the restaurant is too busy for your manpower, whether your schedule is full with part timers or your full time staff is overflowing you with requests, the task of making a functional time table has become for many of us an intolerable duty. Now, as I have mentioned before, it is vital that you try to satisfy the majority of the schedule requests your staff asks you. BUT: What if those requests get in the way of the operational demands? That's where you have to set some boundaries and rules: 1) Set a maximum of days that the staff can request (either day off either a specific shift) 2) Put a deadline that the staff is allowed to make requests for next week 3) Don't allow more than a specific number of staff requests in the same day 4) Explain your key staff how important they are and why they should be thoughtful and careful about the requests they make- through the ball at them a little bit and make them think but also understand that they are valuable to the company and their presence in the restaurant makes all the difference It is ofcourse your duty to be always the first in line to cover for them when noone else can , but it's also your duty NOT to burn out while trying to do so.
