Whether you're prepping for an office relocation or carefully safeguarding your prized ‘Employee of the Month’ plaque, we've all fallen for the temptations of popping bubble wrap like gleeful children! But before bubble wrap became the convenient protective packaging we've come to know and love, it was actually the by-product of a failed invention: textured wallpaper! 😆 Yes, wallpaper! In 1957, two ambitious engineers, Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes, felt the industry lacked wallpaper options. In trying to find a solution, they sealed two shower curtains with air bubbles in between. Their plastic wallpaper didn't exactly get the attention and appreciation they were expecting, but they persevered in marketing it for different uses.
