In October I announced my retirement with 6 months notice! So excited for this next phase of life. If you are here too remember how to navigate the next few months. 1. You're not done yet! Continue to invest in yourself and put your best foot forward. 2. Don't fall for the habits to push you aside for those exciting projects because you will "be gone soon". Speak up and let's your talents shine. 3. Share your knowledge and experience with your team. 4. Recognize the part of your job that gives you JOY! Excel in it! 5. Do not let the couch swallow you up! You've "worked" for many years. Begin to plan for that FUN retirement job. The passion job you have always loved. It's not a job if you are doing what you love! Just a few of the many things to keep you sain in the next few months.

Retirement is considered as the beginning of a new inning. People start preparing themselves for this new chapter of their lives. Few look for extensions in their existing job, few look for consulting assignments, few take freelancing etc. Everyone tries their best to have something to keep them occupied. But ever heard of someone taking voluntary retirement and that too when they are at the peak of their career? The first thought which will come to our mind is that something drastic must have happened at the workplace or on a personal front. Second thought which might come is that he/she must be financially very well prepared to take this leap. Voluntary Retirement does indicate that one must be financially prepared to take this decision. But there is so much more to it. Thank You Rajiv Gurnani Rajiv for sharing your journey with us and giving the pearls of wisdom on not only financial aspects but spiritual too. Retirement does not mean to stop. It simply means pause, restart and reinvent yourself. After all it is 'Retired, Not Tired' :) Here is the link to the video. Go, watch it https://lnkd.in/dCHi_g75

Lessons from My 1-Year-Old Just wrapped up a whirlwind month of retirement celebrations, coordinating hotels, travel, and entertainment for nearly 30 visiting family and friends. The outpouring of love and support has been deeply touching. ❤️ Amidst the busy schedules and many moving pieces, my toddler reminded me of a lesson I hadn’t fully embraced: 👉 The Power of Slowing Down → Be Present Children live fully in the moment, with no concept of what’s next. Watching my son, Alex, delight in the simplest things reminds me to pause and savor the present. It’s an important lesson as I adjust to life beyond the military and move forward with intention. → Prioritize What Matters This next chapter isn’t about doing more; it’s about focusing on what truly matters. I’m looking forward to "quality over quantity" both in time spent and in the tasks I take on. ------- Retirement brings a unique chance to create a life on my own terms. And thanks to Alex, I’ve learned that slowing down doesn’t mean losing pace but finding a rhythm that’s more meaningful. So grateful for the opportunity to design and build my dream life—not by rushing forward, but by moving intentionally. #militarytransition

Only when I am retired can I do what I love and like doing... Do you think this is true? I know it isn't. Why wait 10, 20 years, if you can start doing what you love now? You don't need to wait until you're retired to do what you love. Probably with your dream job, you won't even want to retire because you really enjoy what you do, and you are thriving and successful, probably making much more money than you did before. And while you do that, you are going to have fun and feel fulfilled. Do you really want to postpone having a good life until retirement? If not, then sign up for my LinkedIn Masterclass, where I teach you how to get your dream job in record time: https://lnkd.in/dscjnCrb

Last week marked a significant milestone in my life as I attended a retirement event for the second time – that of my mother-in-law. It was a moment filled with mixed emotions, as colleagues spoke with deep respect about her years of hard work, dedication, and invaluable learnings. Witnessing her retirement brought to mind the importance of dedication and loyalty in one's professional journey. It served as a powerful reminder of the impact that hard work and unwavering commitment can have on one's career. Reflecting on her accomplishments, I couldn't help but feel inspired to carry forward her legacy of excellence in my own endeavors. Her retirement serves as a testament to the rewards that await those who consistently put in the effort, persevere through challenges, and remain loyal to their goals. In the fast-paced world of business, it's easy to lose sight of the value of hard work and loyalty. Yet, moments like these remind us that they are the cornerstones of success and fulfillment. As I return to my role with renewed vigor, I am committed to approaching each day with the same level of dedication and passion. Here's to a future filled with continued growth, achievement, and the unwavering pursuit of excellence. Cheers! #Retirement #HardWork #Loyalty #Legacy #LeadershipLegacy #CareerReflections #ProfessionalInspiration #BusinessSuccess #WorkEthic #Dedication #Commitment #CareerMilestones #PersonalGrowth #ProfessionalDevelopment
