Well, well, well, I got a bit lost for a while, but guess what… (maracas roll 🪇) 🧩 it’s my third week searching for my first remote job! And I have to be honest, I’m feeling pretty relaxed right now. Last week was my final shift as a front desk agent at a 5*****L Hotel in Lake Como. It was tough—really tough—but I wrapped up my contract and I’m ready to channel all my energy 🌪️🔥 into my main mission: landing my first remote job! I’m taking it slow (like when you finish the harvest and need to take a breather) and thinking about this experience I’ve come to realize one harsh truth: *I need to change my mindset.* If I want to deliver exceptional customer service, I need to shift my perspective. Here’s what I’m doing now: • Getting proper rest • Listing my weaknesses •Asking for feedbacks • Taking steps to improve—like enrolling in online courses on customer service fundamentals. Just a tiny warning to anyone looking for a remote customer service position. There are several companies here that advertise positions about hiring for a Reservations Agent, a Customer Service Rep, Guest Services etc.. stating you'll be answering calls, chats and emails about booking hotels, flights, cruises, etc... Then they send you emails stating that you've been moved forward in the on-boarding process. They send you a link to schedule a meeting to learn about company, hiring process, vendors, pay, etc.. Then, you discover the small print. The post that you applied for isn't for an actual job. It's to start a home based travel business. When these companies post jobs of this nature, they should be required to post that it's not a job but a business opportunity.
