During the red carpet interviews at the Pantene 50th Awards Ceremony, Tankut Turnaoğlu, Chairman of the Board of P&G Turkey, Central Asia, and the Middle East, stated, “Ensuring this broadcast is accessible, meaning that visually impaired and hearing impaired individuals can follow what’s happening in the broadcast.” The terms "visually impaired" and "hearing impaired" used in this statement not only fail to align with socially sensitive language but have also been officially replaced by the term "disabled" under the Turkish Disability Act enacted in 2005. Continued use of such terminology may undermine individuals' dignity and hinder their equal participation in society. As representatives of an international company like P&G in Turkey, it is our right to expect greater attention to societal sensitivities and legal regulations. The language used on such platforms is particularly important for raising awareness and promoting inclusivity. As an influencer, I propose taking a step towards adopting accurate terminology to foster a more respectful and inclusive society. Procter & Gamble

Holi, the vibrant festival of colors, is a time of joyous celebration and community bonding. However, in the spirit of progress and inclusivity, it's essential to recognize and respect individual boundaries. Instead of the traditional "Bura na mano, Holi hai" (Don't mind, it's Holi), let's embrace a consent-focused approach to celebrate Holi with respect, understanding, and inclusivity. Here's how we can break stereotypical ways of celebration and make Holi a festival of consent: 1. Respect Personal Space: Before applying colors or engaging in any form of celebration, always ask for consent. Respect the personal space of others and avoid forceful or unwanted participation. 2. Communicate Clearly: Rather than assuming everyone wants to participate in all Holi festivities, communicate openly. Ask others if they're comfortable with color play, water balloons, or any other form of celebration. 3. Offer Opt-Out Options: Create designated areas or zones where individuals who do not wish to participate can feel safe and respected. Offer alternatives like music, dance, or food-centric celebrations for those who prefer not to engage in color play. 4. Educate About Consent: Use Holi as an opportunity to educate about the importance of consent in all aspects of life. Encourage discussions around consent, boundaries, and respect within families, communities, and social circles. 5. Empower Individuals: Empower individuals to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or if their boundaries are being crossed. Encourage a culture where saying "no" is respected and honored. 6. Celebrate Diversity: Embrace the diversity of perspectives and experiences within your community. Acknowledge that not everyone celebrates Holi in the same way and that cultural sensitivity and understanding are crucial. 7. Practice Mindful Celebration: Encourage mindful celebration by using eco-friendly and skin-safe colors. Avoid substances that may cause harm or discomfort to others. 8. Lead by Example: As leaders within your community, lead by example by practicing and promoting consent-focused celebrations. Show others that respecting boundaries enriches the festival experience for everyone involved. Holi is a time for joy, love, and togetherness. By adopting a consent-focused approach, we can break stereotypical ways of celebration and create a more inclusive and respectful environment for all. Let's make this Holi a celebration of consent, where everyone feels valued, respected, and free to enjoy the festivities in their own way. #ConsentFocusedHoli #RespectfulCelebration #BreakStereotypes #CelebrateWithConsent #EmpowerThroughConsent #InclusiveHoli #MindfulCelebration #BoundariesRespected #DiverseHoli #LeadByExample

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are the fulcrum of a vibrant community. Drawing a parallel with Holi, the festival of colors, can illuminate this concept vividly. Holi celebrates the arrival of Spring with its plethora of colors, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. The festival is celebrated by everyone throwing colored powders, known as gulal, and water at each other, transcending barriers of class, race, gender, or age. It is a celebration of unity amidst diversity. The festival embodies equity by dissolving societal hierarchies. During Holi, there is no room for discrimination; instead, everyone is united in a dance of vibrant colors and joy. The tradition of Holi serves as a powerful reminder that we should treat everyone as equals, truly reflecting the essence of equity. Inclusivity is not just a practice but a celebration. When we mix gulal of various colors, each retains its unique hue and fragrance. Akin to the concept of inclusivity, where diversity is promoted, Holi seems to nurture a sense of belonging and community, with its inclusive nature highlighted in community gatherings, dances, and feasts that welcome everyone. In summary, the festival of Holi exemplifies the principles of DEI by celebrating diversity through the unifying act of playing with colors, breaking down traditional social barriers, and fostering a strong sense of community and inclusion. By reflecting on Holi's values, we are reminded of the beauty and strength found in embracing our diverse world. #Holi #FestivalOfColors #Diversity #Equity #Inclusion #UnityInDiversity

Recently, we at Asahi Group held an internal workshop aimed at deepening our understanding of human rights. We screened a thought-provoking documentary film on the human rights of producers, sparking a valuable discussion amongst our members about their relevance to our industry and our organization. Our guest speaker, Akiko SATO from UNDP, who is an expert on human rights, raised a compelling question: "What can we, as a community, do at both corporate and individual levels, towards nature and the planet?" This sparked an insightful discussion about our responsibilities, as businesses and individuals, in respecting nature and the planet on a larger scale and within our communities. We are committed to continuing these conversations and taking actions that reflect our dedication to human rights and sustainability. #HumanRights #CorporateResponsibility #Sustainability

Embracing Diversity and Unity: Corporate Messages through the Festival of Colours - Holi As the vibrant festival of Holi approaches, it presents an opportune moment for corporations to reflect on the values of diversity, unity, and inclusivity. Holi, known as the festival of colours, transcends religious and cultural boundaries, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. In today’s globalized world, where businesses operate across diverse cultures and societies, embracing Holi’s message becomes more pertinent than ever. It’s a time to celebrate the kaleidoscope of cultures within our workplaces and communities, recognizing the beauty in our differences. 🎨 Embracing the Colors of Professional Growth 🌈 As the vibrant hues of Holi fill the air with joy and merriment, it’s a poignant reminder of the richness diversity brings to our lives. Today, amidst the celebrations, let us reflect on the parallels between this festival of colors and our professional journeys. Just as each pigment adds depth to a canvas, diversity enriches our workplaces, infusing them with varied perspectives, experiences, and talents. Like the fusion of colors in a Holi celebration, collaboration and inclusivity create a tapestry of innovation, where every voice is heard and valued. However, let us not forget the significance of balance. Just as an artist carefully blends colors to create harmony, let us strive for equilibrium in our professional environments, ensuring that every individual is given equal opportunities to thrive and contribute. As we revel in the festivities of Holi, let us recommit ourselves to fostering an environment where diversity is celebrated, inclusivity is cherished, and collaboration knows no bounds. May the spirit of Holi inspire us to paint our professional journey with compassion, creativity, and collaboration, creating a masterpiece of success for all. #HoliCelebration #DiversityAndInclusion #ProfessionalGrowth #InnovateWithInclusivity
