When dealing with regulatory bodies with clear cut rules, compliance is key to avoiding sanctions or restrictions. Emilio Nsue the Afcon golden Boot winner by the decision of FIFA Disciplinary Committe stands suspended for six months and Equitorial Guinea losing points gained in the world Cup qualifiers in which Nsue scored the winning goals in both games. The Equitorial Guinea FA failed to wait for the Players Status Committee to issues its decision on their application for Emilio to change nationality before fielding him in their squad thereby making him ineligible to play as provided for in Article 9, Paragraphs 2 of Regulations Governing The Application of Status. Make sure you satisfy every eligibility conditions when entering into a tournament to avoid putting your team and yourself at risk of suspensions and sanctions. #sportslaw #compliance ##regulatorycompliance

Australia's foreign aid has fallen to just 0.68% of the federal budget, a significant decrease from previous years. Despite this, many Australians believe that a significantly larger portion of the budget is allocated to international aid. A recent Redbridge survey reveals that one in four people think over 3% of the budget goes to foreign aid, and over half of the respondents overestimated budget spending. Learn more about the current state of Australia’s foreign aid and the ongoing push for increased support via our #SaferWorldForAll campaign.

CAF PUNISHES LIBYA Libya is by no means a strong footballing nation. They are the worst football team in North Africa. Their current ranking is 122 in the world, according to FIFA.com. But they try to win at all costs. Because of this, they like to resort to various ploys and tactics to win their matches. Some of them include refusing to allow their opponents to train, turning off the lights during training (if they can find a way to train), attacking the opponent's team bus, not providing security, not providing transportation, using lasers, stoning the goalkeeper with firecrackers, etc. Locking the super eagles of Nigeria inside an abandoned airport for more than 15 hours? That has to be the climax. The eagles had to walk away from the encounter after such ill-treatment. After much deliberation, CAF has decided to fine Libya $50,000 for breaching regulations. CAF has also decided to award 3 goals and 3 points to Nigeria. Let me use this opportunity to commend CAF for doing the right thing (something they rarely do). Although I think the penalty should be much harsher, but it's a good start. Let me also commend Fabrizio Romano for using his incredible brand to create global awareness about the "hostage" situation the super eagles found themselves in, in Libya. #FIFA, #CAF, #AfricanFootball, #AFCONQualifiers, #PatriceMotsepe, #NFF, #SuperEagles, #FabrizioRomano, #WilliamTroostEkong

FIFA lost the Diarra case. The judgment is that FIFA rules on international transfers of professional footballers are contrary to EU law. Two insightfull interviews with Luis Villas-Boas Pires, Head of the Football Agents Department at FIFA: - The first one was at the AFRICAN FOOTBALL AGENTS ASSOCIATION event in Nairobi, Kenya, on 17-18 April 2024. Amongst other interesting topics, he discusses the challenges of moving to Miami and obtaining a US visa; filling the agents' department with new staff following the resignation of the entire football agents' department due to the permanent relocation to the USA; considering the categorisation of countries, the reduction or even the abolition of the football agents' annual licence fee; that probably only 20% of all licensed football agents are actually active in international transfers (Note: the interview is in English). https://lnkd.in/d7iaZcAB - The second one in the Jornal de Negócios Record podcast with Diana Ramos and Sérgio Krithinas on the legal 'war' against the FFAR, the abuses of a profession that was liberalised in 2015, the tax risks that players run with some practices and the many millions paid in transfer commissions (Note: the interview is in Portuguese). https://lnkd.in/d254ijCQ Visit FFAR.online for more relevant content on football agents: https://lnkd.in/dv6wHfsr #ffar #sportsbusiness #footballregulation #sportslaw #footballlaw #football #footballnews #footballagent #footballbusiness #fifa #uefa #conmebol #concacaf #caf #afc #ofc #ffaronline #transparency #knowledge #hub #kenya #nairobi #portugal #interview #usa #miami #relocation

The playing style of Algeria often values flair, creativity, and individual skill. This emphasis on creativity encourages players to express themselves on the field, try new moves, and take risks, which can lead to more skillful and inventive play. I see the desert foxes holding onto and possessing the ball more. What Our boys need to do is carry on from friday's performance and look out for the 12th man to down Algeria . Namboole must scream to rally our own troops.A home game and a home crowd, any opponent can fall here . Prediction: The last time the desert foxes visited Kampala,in 1998 ,Hassan Mubiru's brace downed Algeria. This time,we dont have that calibre of an attacker, who can easily bully defenders, but then again, our boys have some silky play in them and if they can pick out Fahad Bayo quicky and perfectly,we could have something to cheer. But ,wait a second. The Desert Foxes are hungry, after having lost at home on Friday, they are going to give it a fight . 1-1.
