Burgers, celebrated globally for their varied flavors and textures, are now taking an unconventional turn in China with the introduction of donkey meat sourced from Pakistan. This new addition marks a bold innovation in the culinary world, bringing a distinct twist to an already diverse dish. This development is also a key milestone for agricultural trade, following a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Pakistan and China. The agreement, forged between Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security and Research and China’s General Administration of Customs, outlines specific quarantine protocols to ensure the smooth export of donkey meat and hides from Pakistan to China. Several companies, including the Hangeng Group, are expected to engage in this emerging market, with plans underway to build a state-of-the-art slaughterhouse in the Gwadar Free Zone. This facility will have the capacity to process over 200,000 donkeys annually. Pakistan, with an estimated population of 6 million donkeys, has found a growing market in China, which is increasingly seeking donkey meat and hides for both culinary and commercial purposes. #DonkeyMeat #AgriculturalTrade #PakistanChina #FoodInnovation #CulinaryTrends #Burgers

The potential of the Chinese bird's nest market is enormous and is currently in a phase of rapid development. The 'blood nest incident' more than a decade ago raised doubts among consumers about the safety and nutritional value of bird's nests. To protect consumer rights, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine of China has taken action at the source, signing the 'Protocol on Inspection, Quarantine and Hygienic Conditions' with Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and other countries. The protocol requires that a traceability system should be established for bird's nest products imported into China, to ensure that products can be traced back to their raw materials and production origins, and that relevant products can be promptly recalled in the event of an issue. With the signing of the protocol, the bird's nest is gradually moving towards standardization. The formal bird's nest export process begins with the construction of a factory built according to China's food standards. After the completion of the factory, an application needs to be submitted to the local agricultural department. After the approval of the local agricultural department, the local department will submit an export application to our country. Subsequently, our country will dispatch professionals to conduct inspections, confirming whether the products meet export standards. Only after the inspection is passed, the import quota will be approved. Strong September secures solid quarter for #Norwegian seafood exports #Norway exported seafood worth NOK 44.1 billion in the third quarter. This is an increase of NOK 2.2 billion, or 5 per cent, compared with the same period last year. “Thanks to a historically high export value in September, we have put behind us the best third quarter ever. This time there is virtually no currency effect from a weak Norwegian krone, since we are comparing with the same period last year. High volumes of salmon, trout, mackerel and prawns are driving up the export value," says Christian Chramer, CEO of the Norwegian Seafood Council. #seafood #codfish #mackerel #trout #herring #clipfish #kingcrab #stockfish #saithe #salmon #shellfish #SeafoodFromNorway #Sustainability #NorwegianExports #Aquaculture #GlobalTrade #SustainableSeafood Read the full press release 🌬 -------->

HOW IS QUARANTINE HANDLED FOR IMPORTED SEAFOOD SWITCHING TO DOMESTIC CONSUMPTION? According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has clarified the quarantine regulations for imported seafood intended for processing and export when switching to domestic consumption. As per Circular 06/2022/TT-BNNPTNT, imported raw materials for export production are exempt from quarantine when their purpose is changed to domestic consumption. However, there remain risks related to food safety and potential violations of administrative sanctions if labeling, quality, and quarantine requirements are not fully met. 👉 Note for businesses: When switching to domestic consumption, it is crucial to ensure compliance with food safety regulations to avoid risks and additional costs. ------------------------------------------------ ☎️ Hotline: (+84) 28 2201 0821 📞 Hotline: (+84) 903 019 977 🌐 https://logistics-sun.com/ 📮 linda@logistics-sun.com 📍 21 12th Street, Cityland Park Hills, Ward 10, Go Vap District, Ho Chi Minh City. #VASEP #Logistics #SeafoodImports #QuarantineRegulations #FoodSafety #logsungloballogistics

EU grapples with lower seafood consumption, 'exceptionally high' import dependence Per capita seafood consumption in the trading bloc has fallen 7.6 percent over the last 10 years, according to the European Fish Processors and Traders Association. While EU consumers are buying a greater variety of seafood, volumes sold are lower. Seafood consumption in the European Union fell nearly 2 percent last year and is likely to have slipped again by the end of 2024, according to a report released this week by the European Fish Processors and Traders Association (AIPCE-CEP). The EU also remained heavily dependent on imported seafood last year, the AIPCE report showed, with nearly two-thirds of seafood consumed by member countries originating outside the bloc. “The EU's dependence on imported materials for its markets has remained exceptionally high, particularly following the UK's exit from the EU,” the association wrote in its EU Seafood Supply Synopsis 2024, formerly known as the Finfish Study.
