As the U.S. presidential elections approach, together with Victor Warhem and Henning Voepel , I have analyzed how each possible outcome could affect Europe from economic, political, and military perspectives. Geopolitically, both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris may pivot away from Europe, yet Trump’s return would likely intensify challenges in EU-U.S. relations. Similar to 2020, the prospect of a second Trump term should have already pushed European leaders to prepare for potential U.S. disengagement from Europe. In this context, building external alliances, fostering greater cooperation, and strengthening the single market are essential for Europe’s resilience and future stability. https://lnkd.in/dusMud4n
