Last week, Deputy Associate Director of International Affairs, Kate Whitehead, joined Suzanne Spaulding (CSIS) and Phil Stupak (ONCD) to discuss critical #cybersecurity challenges and lessons learned during the French-American Foundation - United States’s 2024 Cyber Security Conference. It is important to spend some time reflecting on what we've learned from dealing with cyber threats over the last few decades, while continuing to promote effective measures to mitigate cyber risks, including cyber hygiene, #SecurebyDesign principles, and CISA’s #SecureOurWorld campaign. We can and should leverage these lessons to address current and future #cybersecurity challenges. cisa.gov/securebydesign cisa.gov/secure-our-world

I am incredibly grateful to have joined the French-American Foundation - United States in this year’s French-American Cyber Security Conference in Washington, D.C. The two days of conversation on global cyber security challenges, from election security to AI’s role and critical space infrastructure, were invaluable! During my lunch breakout session, FAF gave me the opportunity to introduce “Climate Links,” an initiative I’m cultivating to help cities worldwide identify and implement sustainable technologies. Our goal is to leverage open-source intelligence and transatlantic collaboration—drawing on a Consortium of French and American research institutions, technology vendors, legal experts, and policy advisors—to build a framework that ensures cities can shape sustainable solutions quickly, securely, and effectively. This initiative would not be possible without the kind of high-level exchange that FAF enables. Their dedication to promoting transatlantic dialogue is precisely the environment we need to create lasting, impactful partnerships. I’m looking forward to developing “Climate Links” as a US–France effort, ensuring we tackle sustainability and cyber security hand in hand. It was also great to watch Camille Stewart Gloster, Esq talk about the impact of AI and Cyber Security in Global Majority countries. Her 2024 Global Action Forum Report, “The Global Majority AI Agenda: The Path to Shared Prosperity Is Anchored in Equity and Sustainability,” is now available here: https://lnkd.in/dBwX5GzB #AI #ResponsibleAI #AIForGood #AIInnovation #sustainability #cyber
