WORKING IN THE CITY: Stefanie Bales Fine Art This #LittleItaly boutique gallery is filled with “dreamscapes” and Bales' strong feminine point of view. Company motto: “To make living itself an art, that is the goal.” How can the city be more business-friendly: Offer more diversity for small businesses. The hospitality industry seems to be 90% of business downtown. It’s less of a destination for art, shopping and culture. The majority of downtown real estate is so unreasonably priced. It doesn’t allow space for other types of businesses to exist. I’m hoping the city will eventually offer subsidized commercial real estate. I used to rent a small studio space in the Broker’s Building (the lofts above the old Hooters). It was bought out and developed and that is the same story that just continues to play out. For the rest of this Working In The City profile, go to: https://lnkd.in/gPAfJKFs “Working In The City” is The San Diego Sun’s feature Q&A series with downtown San Diego business operators. It’s a way to get to know the city by meeting the people who work here. This is the eighth in an ongoing series.

Did you know that Golden Gate Park, stretching over 1,000 acres, is actually larger than New York’s Central Park (which it was modeled after)? It is over 3 miles long and half a mile deep- stretching across nearly half of San Francisco! It’s been an iconic part of our city since its creation in the 1870s, transforming a windswept sand dune into the lush urban oasis we know and love today. The park was designed by William Hammond Hall and John McLaren, who both had a vision of creating a public space for everyone to enjoy, regardless of background or status. Today, Golden Gate Park hosts world-class museums, stunning gardens, and major music festivals and other events that draw tens of millions of visitors each year. From the serene Japanese Tea Gardens to the renowned de Young Museum and peaceful Stow Lake, this park reflects San Francisco’s spirit of community and innovation immersed in beautiful nature. This park is personally one of my favorite San Francisco landmarks; no matter how many times you visit there is always something new to see, and despite its central location there are many parts of the park that are secluded and full of enormous, centuries-old trees where you can’t even tell that you are surrounded by huge buildings and noisy traffic. As a San Francisco native, I deeply understand how the city’s rich history and vibrant spaces contribute to its dynamic property landscape. Whether you’re looking to invest, lease, or develop commercial property in our beautiful city, my local expertise and knowledge of San Francisco’s ever-evolving market can help guide you to success. Let’s connect and discuss how we can make your commercial real estate goals a reality in this extraordinary city! 🏙️ #CommercialRealEstate #SanFrancisco #GoldenGatePark #LocalExpert #RealEstateInvesting #CRE #PropertyManagement #SanFranciscoHistory #Office #Retail #Industrial

These two transformative projects have reclaimed some of the largest parking craters in the urban core, and helped to fill the last remaining gaps along Euclid Avenue, Downtown Cleveland's premier retail corridor. Once home to the lavish Hippodrome—a grand theater with seating for up to 3,500 and considered among the world’s finest playhouses—Euclid Avenue lost ‘The Hipp’ to the wrecking ball in 1981, leaving the site as a parking lot for 40 years. Today, that site is transformed as Skyline 776, a 304-unit, 23-story mixed-use tower that adds to the existing 2,500+ residential units and a growing mix of shops, restaurants, and other amenities along the Euclid corridor. A few blocks west, construction is nearly complete on the new global headquarters of Sherwin-Williams. The 36-story tower replaces surface parking lots off of Public Square and will soon house 3,100+ employees in the heart of Downtown Cleveland. At a time of drastic change in the dynamics of urban centers, and when downtowns across the country faced an uncertain future amidst a global pandemic, developers, small businesses, and a global paint giant took a chance on Cleveland—and so far, it's paying off. #ThisIsCLE #CLE #cleveland #allin
