Why are nature-based solutions important? At Climategames we help our clients fund nature-based solutions, through the medium of exercise. These solutions include tree planting in Kenya, plastic removal in Indonesia and methane capture in Turkey, all of which are contributing to repairing and restoring the planet. However, the conversation around nature-based solutions hasn’t always been straightforward, so let’s dive in with 🌎 Dee Davison https://lnkd.in/e6TiJke2

I’m proud to be part of #Team66 , the 66% of the world's inhabitants who are convinced that inaction will cost humanity more than ecological action. I believe that we must not only react to problems, but also solve them. All Veolia Resourcers work every day to deploy solutions to meet this challenge in line with stakeholders expectations. Join us in celebrating BioPak's fifth partnership anniversary with Greenfleet! 💚 Founded with the intention of revolutionising the packaging industry and reducing our reliance on fossil-derived plastics, BioPak considers climate action every step of the way. They use responsibly sourced and compostable materials through environmentally certified manufacturing processes designed for a circular economy. Over the past five years, BioPak has contributed to critical Greenfleet reforestation projects in New Zealand and Australia. One of the projects they've supported through their climate action is Te Muri, located north of Auckland on New Zealand’s North Island. Restoration of the coastal broadleaved forest is helping the connectivity of wildlife habitat in the region and providing stepping stones for many native bird species to move throughout the area. The project is helping conserve and enhance the region's unique biodiversity. Together, Greenfleet and BioPak are growing climate hope by restoring our forests, building wildlife habitat and regenerating ecosystems. 🌳 To find out more about BioPak’s environmental responsibility, visit: https://lnkd.in/gejZFUmK Join over 600 organisations in taking tangible climate action through native revegetation: https://lnkd.in/gMF9b8hF #GrowingHope #ClimateAction #CarbonOffsetting

🚩 66% ? : it is especially the percentage of the global population who prefer ecological action over inaction. It means, 66% of the world's inhabitants think that it will cost less (socially, environmentally, financially) to act than to do nothing. Clearly convinced about that, I'm proud to be part of this #Team66 while working at Veolia, a company that fights for its convictions and acts to #regenerate resources, #depollute and #decarbonize both its activities and those of its clients. A company that does its part to protect our planet, to protect us 🌍 . In a daily base, as BS&P Partner in Veolia HQ, I'm ensuring our activities are looking for oportunities to improve the operations as part of the implementation of our Strategic Plan 2024 - 2027 #GreenUp : 👉 Ensuring Decarbonization with 18 Mtons CO2e erased (Scope 4) 👉 Supporting Resource Regeneration : 1.5bn m3 fresh water saved 👉 Assuming Depollution of 10 Mtons of hazardous waste & pollutants treated And this, all around the 🌍 with our colleagues part of #Team66 If you'd like to have a look at the results of Veolia's Ecological Transformation Barometer just click here 👉 : https://lnkd.in/erNpjPSh. 🌎 Our beautiful Caribbean islands face unique challenges. Limited resources and growing waste threaten the very paradise we cherish. But there’s a solution: the circular economy which focuses on keeping resources in use for as long as possible. 🌿 The Caribbean Biodiversity Fund (CBF) is thrilled to share the contributions of Mr. Derek E. Luk Pat, the Advancing Circular Economy (ACE) Facility’s Committee Chair. Here are encouraging words from the ACE Committee Chair about the upcoming call for proposals for the circular economy projects. 🌊 Mr. Derek E. Luk Pat highlights the need for circular solutions to be sustainably financed as we work towards the conservation of our beautiful and biodiverse Caribbean region.

We are very thrilled to have been selected as one of the curated impact opportunity on newly launched Co-Axis platform in Partnership with Silverstrand Capital and our grassroots partner Collective Efforts for Voluntary Action (CEVA) Since 2021, local communities we are working with have been signaling perhaps the most urgent issue of loss of medicinal and aromatic plants from the landscape. Unsustainable harvest and excessive trade of medicinal and aromatic plants is creating a dangerous situation in the upper Himalayas. From our work with the community, we gather that there are nearly 10 species which are near to extinction in Pangi, Himachal Pradesh if measures are not taken immediately they will disspear from the valley. Situation might be same across other places. 80% of the harvesters are women, and depends on the income from trade. Our proposed project attempts to work with local harvesters, and pharmaceutical companies to bring better harvesting and trade practices that are scientific, practically sustainable, and offers a better returns to both the parties.
