As a hiring engineer manager, here are 3 points I'd love to share with those who are looking for new opportunities: 1) Focus on the role: If you are reaching out to the hiring manager, don’t spend too much time telling how great you are. Focus on the role and why you are interested in that role specifically. 2) Be succinct: I know most people are applying to many positions at the same time and it is also true from the other side: hiring managers are reviewing many candidates at once. Say what you need to say in short and clearly expressed messages. 3) Be proactive! A new grad reached out to me out of the blue since she was interested in my experience. Luckily I also had an opening that just came out and she could apply to the role. If you are also a hiring manager, what else would you add to this list? Google #hiring #sre
