TAGHEER's recent endline assessment of a livelihoods improvement project in Afghanistan has unveiled notable positive impacts. The project encompassed a comprehensive approach, focusing on diverse areas including cash-for-work, MSME support, community kitchens for food supply, infrastructure development, and Technical and Vocational training, all aimed at addressing crucial social and economic needs. The cash-for-work initiative has provided male beneficiaries with sustainable employment opportunities and daily wages, contributing to their livelihood stability. Furthermore, capacity building and social behavioral training have played a pivotal role in enhancing individuals' abilities in managing daily life challenges effectively. These impactful findings underscore the significance of community development projects aligned with the specific needs of the people, thereby contributing to sustainable development in Afghanistan. Collaboration among local stakeholders, INGOs, and UN bodies, coupled with continuous dialogue with the Afghan people and government, are essential elements in reducing vulnerabilities and enhancing the effectiveness of project outcomes. Can you dance like a Samburu😊? These young girls and Morans (youth warriors) come from a landscape where securing a livelihood is challenging due to various factors, including sole dependency on livestock, climate change, poverty, historic marginalization, intercommunal conflicts, cattle rustling, and high levels of illiteracy. There is an urgent need to break this cycle of socioeconomic inequality for these resilient communities by investing in youth through vocational skills and entrepreneurship. Catholic Relief Services in partnership with #localleadership, is building a pool of #youthful and #skilled manpower in these communities. Through #technical and #vocational education training, vulnerable youth gain alternative livelihood options, promote peace through #entrepreneurship, and drive #localeconomicdevelopment. We invite like-minded partners to join us in this journey towards creating a meaningful and lasting impact. 🇳🇵 Nepal's Development Crossroads: Integrity vs. Progress 🚀 Nepal is at a pivotal moment, aiming to graduate from Least Developed Country status by 2026 and meet the SDGs by 2030. However, the government's proposed integrity policy could impact NGOs and INGOs—limiting their access to funding and their role in advocacy and development. 🌱 Transparency and accountability are crucial, but the policy must not stifle the very organizations driving social progress. A balanced approach is essential to ensure collaboration and effective development. #Nepal #HumanRights #SDGs #NGOs #Development #Integrity #Collaboration

Very elaborate insights here!
World Vision Uganda. has made strides to address the needs of underserved communities by implementing integrated approaches to improve access to essential services, financial literacy, and agricultural development. These initiatives aim to lift households out of poverty and create sustainable development at the grassroots level. Despite progress, many households still lack access to basic health, education, and social services. The Citizen Voice and Action (CVA) initiative has played a very crucial role in mobilising citizens to engage with sub-county officials, ensuring effective delivery of government-led services to the community. Comprehensive measures have been put in place to provide financial knowledge and services, empowering individuals with the tools to improve their economic status. #SDG4 #Livelihoods #ENOUGH #SDG2 #WeAreWorldVision Connie Nankya M.A.-Public Relations and Media Mgt. This is a The World Bank Group initiative implemented as part of the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project II (DRDIP II) and implemented by DMI Associates in partnership with East Africa Gate (EAGate). The Katsina State Government is proud to announce an innovative initiative led by Governor H.E. Dikko Umar Radda, in partnership with Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group and the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency to address the needs of approximately 250,000 forcibly displaced persons in our state. This state-driven approach is aligned with our commitment to social cohesion, employment, food security, gender empowerment, financial inclusion, and economic growth. Building on the momentum gained from the recent Peace and Security Summit for northwestern Nigeria, our initiative is fully aligned with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the UN Secretary General’s Action Agenda. Our focus is on finding durable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and preventing future displacement crises while ensuring effective protection and assistance for affected communities. Core Activities of this pilot initiative are: 📌 Mobile Service Delivery: We are deploying a mobile one-stop shop that will bring essential services directly to communities across wards and LGAs. This includes providing national identification numbers, bank verification numbers, opening bank accounts, and ensuring eligible individuals are included in the social register. This outreach is designed to build trust and connectivity between the government and our people. 📌 Agricultural Empowerment: Our plan involves allocating arable land, quality seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs to 1,000 IDPs and vulnerable households, with a focus on supporting women. Expanding irrigation networks is key to enabling multiple crop rotations each year, enhancing productivity and stabilizing livelihoods. - TGI will leverage its extensive experience to support smallholder farmers with training, cooperative development, agro-financing, and guaranteed market access. This collaboration ensures that farmers have the resources they need to rebuild their lives. - UNHCR is providing technical expertise and support to kickstart these initiatives, with the goal of transitioning to a sustainable, locally led effort. The focus is on empowering communities to achieve self-reliance and build a brighter future. This innovative model underscores our commitment to a Nigerian-led and implemented approach to solving the challenges faced by IDPs and host communities. As we pilot this initiative, we look forward to refining our strategies and sharing our successes to inspire similar efforts across North-West Nigeria and Nigeria at large.
