#cdr #fieldinvestigation #communitybasedaudit Yesterday involved myself in CDR investigation team to solve my curiosity and had new learnings each and everytime I do it in field. Child death review has made a positive national impact on the health and safety of infants and children and it is the hope of all teams that prevention efforts will reduce the number of child deaths. We reviewed the case, few days after the death and use the multidisciplinary approach to help determine the cause and manner of death. It's not an easy task to ask parents about their child death. But it is necessary as CDR teams have two main purposes: 1) Identifying and collecting data pertaining to the cause and manner of child deaths, and 2) Providing prevention recommendations to state or local agencies based on this data. Every public health professional must understand the above two points in order to practice preventive measures and include the analysis in program recommendations.
