🌟 Reflecting On Our First Hackathon: Litehack at Litebox 🌟 This past weekend, we held our inaugural internal hackathon, Litehack, and the results were nothing short of transformative. Here’s a look at what happened: - - Litehack Dynamics - - 🔹 Diverse Collaboration: Six teams, crafted to mix different roles, worked through a 24-hour sprint. It was a strategic mix to foster new synergies among team members who hadn't previously collaborated closely. 🔹 The Challenge: Teams dedicated the first two hours to defining projects under the theme of "Social Innovation" tackling areas like ecology, health, finance, inclusion, and education. 🔹 New Technologies: Participants challenged themselves by incorporating technologies they hadn't used before, expanding their skill sets under tight deadlines. - - Pushing Boundaries - - 🧗♂️ Stepping Out of their Comfort Zone: People from various roles—including designers, QA, developers, and PMs—moved out of their comfort zones to pitch in front of a panel of juries. 🧑⚖️ The Jury: To take Litehack to the next level, we invited four external judges who are well-known in their fields. Thanks to Patricio Molina, Juan Melano, Luz Borchardt, and Sebastian Peña for bringing an unbiased and expert perspective to our event! Their insights and evaluations were invaluable in pushing our teams to excel. - - The Winner - - 🏆 Winner Spotlight: Congratulations to Team Elderly, who developed an app to enhance the social connectivity of seniors. Utilizing AI integrations like Whisper and ChatGPT-4, the app focuses on accessibility, allowing users to interact and schedule activities through voice commands. I am incredibly proud of our team at Litebox. Your dedication and passion were key to Litehack’s success. This event not only reinforced our motto "Design and Code with Synergy" but also demonstrated the impact of our commitment to entrepreneurship, innovation, and teamwork. In Nepal, If you consider the e-commerce business, there are more than 30,000 registered. All of them are competing to make money, which isn't a bad thing because every business aims for profits at the end of the day. So, what they're missing is improving the customer experience, testing new features, and conducting proper market research. Currently, they're just helping us see and buy products online, but there's much more to it than that. From an accessible or equitable perspective, they're still not meeting the standards, especially in the Nepalese market. There's much room for improvement in making their platforms inclusive and accessible to all users. Focusing on delivering a great user experience, being more personable/trustworthy, and experimenting with new technology while conducting thorough research can be beneficial.
