Handwashing is imperative for maintaining good health, as it helps prevent the spread of diseases. #GNINepal promotes five essential hygiene behaviors by enhancing WASH infrastructure and raising community awareness. To ensure access to handwashing facilities for underserved communities, we build handwashing stations, drinking water systems (DWS), and gender-friendly toilets with menstrual hygiene management (MHM) facilities. Let’s mark Global Handwashing Day with a commitment to promoting handwashing practices.✊☺️ #goodchange #EmpoweringPeople #TransformingCommunities

Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024, celebrated on May 28th with the theme #PeriodFriendlyWorld, underscores the crucial link between water, sanitation, and health. Adequate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities are essential for managing menstruation safely and effectively. Access to clean water and proper sanitation prevents infections, promotes health, and ensures dignity for menstruators. In many parts of the world, lack of access to WASH facilities forces menstruators to use unhygienic materials or manage their periods in unsafe conditions, leading to serious health risks. Investing in WASH infrastructure and education is critical to creating a period-friendly world where everyone can manage their menstruation with dignity and without health risks. Menstrual Hygiene Day 2024 calls for global action to improve WASH services, break the stigma around menstruation, and ensure menstrual health and hygiene for all. #PeriodFriendlyWorld #BreakTheSilence #WaterAndSanitation #WASH #DignityInMenstruation

Today is Global Handwashing Day 2024! This year’s theme emphasizes a message that remains as crucial as ever – clean hands continue to be important as they save lives. At Sanitation First India and The Cycle, we continue our commitment to safe hand hygiene across generations, ensuring that communities, from remote villages to urban schools, have access to effective handwashing solutions and orientation on positive hygiene behaviour. 🚰 Our initiatives include: ** Provision of Solar-powered, pedal-operated handwash units in health facilities and remote areas, constructed handwash units in government schools, anganwadis and communities, high-tech, IoT-powered units in schools with better facilities. **For the first time in India, we set up Soap Banks across all 1,507 anganwadis in the aspirational Virudhunagar district. These soap banks have ensured children and their caregivers learn the proper technique and critical times for handwashing and has grown into a movement, with soap donations extending into nearby primary schools and vulnerable children's homes! **Through our Happy Periods personal hygiene program, we've trained over 100,000 children and over 7000 sanitation workers on positive hygiene and handwashing behavior. Our little hygiene champions are cascading key messages into their homes, neighbourhood and a whole new generation. **We’ve also provided antimicrobial SuperTowels, enabling children and sanitation workers to keep their hands germ-free, even when soap and water aren’t available. Clean hands are the first line of defense against many preventable diseases. Let’s work together to ensure everyone has the tools to stay safe and healthy! 🧼✨ #GlobalHandwashingDay #SanitationFirst #CleanHandsSaveLives #HappyPeriods #SustainableHygiene
