I’ve been tracking Crumb’s recipe flow, and I didn’t expect so many people to drop off before reaching the “AHA” moment. Here’s how we plan to fix it. Crumb is quite simple: you dictate the ingredients you have in your fridge, and we instantly create a customized recipe for you. Nothing complicated, right? Yet, 31% of our users drop off between the home page and actually creating a recipe 🫠 Add the onboarding drop-off, and nearly half of our installs are wasted. That’s massive. Not sure if this is common, but i’m sure there’s a LOT of room for improvement. Drop-off #1: Home Page -> Recipe Created (AHA moment 🤩) We tried to innovate by placing a microphone button on the bottom right of the app as a CTA for the recipe creation. Mistake: No usual navbar at the bottom -> users are lost on what the next step should be. Fix: Blur the rest of the home page, making the Mic button the only obvious step forward. Drop-off #2: Recipe Creation → Recipe Steps Of 1.590 users who created a recipe, only 1.088 get to the recipe steps Add another 30% Drop-off 🥶 This might be about how users perceive value in Crumb. My hypothesis? They just want to be inspired without following every steps. Fix: Embrace it and make sure they get inspired as quickly as possible.

Last week we had our very first Live Build Hour! If you missed the session, the full recording is linked at the end. I loved this session for a few reasons 1. I was able to do what I love most, build some useful applications 2. I was able to show just how quickly you can go from zero to an app that you can share with your team. In less than 45 minutes, I built a customer success app that allowed you to capture tickets from your customers, assign them to your team, and notify the customer when the status of a ticket was updates. 3. I was able to answer some excellent questions from the brilliant Noloco Community. And the best part: we now have a template you can clone and use for your team (I'll add the link in the comments) I will definitely be doing this again, it was such a blast! Huddle's closed beta is out today!🚀🎉 👇🏼 This is what we focused on for the past 7 days: - Clear requirements and the timeline - Specific plan for the end-to-end sales funnel - Separating responsibilities while collaborating Eugene Yao brought people to our beta landing page. (10x marketer!) Benjamin Lin wrote codes for iOS day and night while helping me on the landing page. (10x engineer&PM!) I focused on connecting users from the landing page to the app, including high-level business decisions (User requests, feature lists, metrics, logo design, landing page, etc.). Challenge: Fighting against perfectionism 👀 "Can we do better?" "Yeah, that's for the next iteration." And... This is our YTD revenue chart! 🤯 The chart we've been dreaming about for many months 🦄 Next topic: How to make a high-conversion landing page
