“Our initiative is transforming rural livelihoods through encouraging women’s entrepreneurship and gender-equal policies.” Our partners at Responsible Coalition for Resilient Communities (RCRC) and the The Buddha Institute (Buddha Fellowship Program) are working to improve the lives of 50 million families by ensuring rural women have income and agency to actively engage in their communities. Entrepreneurship not only generates income but also empowers rural women by granting them control over resources. This is crucial as women often prioritize investments in food, healthcare, and their children's education. Watch Mukti Bosco and Shipra Singh explain more about their inspiring initiative below. #DevelopmentEntrepreneurship #WomenEntrepreneurship #GenderEquality

The Government Outcomes Lab, University of Oxford recently published a comprehensive report titled ‘The Evolution of Social Outcomes Partnerships in the UK: Distilling fifteen years of experience from Peterborough to Kirklees’. Read this report to discover: 🔎 Diverse applications on how social outcomes partnership, such as Social Impact Bonds and Development Impact Bonds, have been used to address a wide range of social challenges over the past 15 years in the UK, from homelessness to education. 🔎 Data-driven insights from real world data and case studies. 🔎 How outcome funds can contribute to the broader humanitarian innovative finance landscape. Notably, social outcomes partnerships can foster greater localisation and adaptation. While many traditional delivery contracting models stifle innovation with an overemphasis on input and process driven accountability, such outcome-based funding has the flexibility to change the game: 💡 When financial support is directly linked to measurable, context-specific outcomes instead of pre-defined activities, it allows for programmes to adapt and tailor interventions based on local circumstances. 💡 This approach incentivises and empowers local actors, who possess deep community understanding, to design innovative solutions that address specific needs and challenges. 💡 When resources are directed towards effective interventions, it ensures greater impact and sustainability where it is most needed. Check out the report to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gAs4Bb6J Share your thoughts 💭 Do you see potential for social outcomes partnerships in your area of social/humanitarian work or country? #SocialImpact #SocialFinance #ImpactInvestment #InnovativeFinance #HumanitarianInnovativeFinance #Localisation #Adaptation

Meet our 2024 Tomorrow Maker - Tasha Ritchie! Accountable Futures Collective (AFC) addresses the accountability void between promises made to young people and their experiences in reality. AFC works alongside young people to lead engagement, design, and systemic reform work across sectors to hold systems accountable for their role in young people’s lives. AFC collaborates with organisations and communities to create frameworks, processes, and practices that enable adults and institutions to become more responsive and accountable to young people. Tasha now wishes to develop a social enterprise to support the work of AFC that provides expertise to organisations/communities to co-design and embed accountability methodology that extends current youth engagement practice. 🌍 Investing in Our Future: Why Every Dollar Counts in Child-Focused Development Exciting new research by World Vision, in partnership with EYAustralia, reveals transformative insights on the impact of child-focused Overseas Development Assistance (ODA). With every $1 invested in children yielding a $10 return in community and economic benefits, the case for directing ODA towards children has never been stronger. This comprehensive analysis shows that despite children making up 46% of the population in ODA-receiving countries, only 12% of ODA is child-related. Such underinvestment not only overlooks the potential economic benefits but also the chance to significantly advance global sustainable development goals (SDGs). Key highlights from the report include: • A $10 return on every $1 invested in children, combining direct benefits and broader community impacts. • Urgent need for increased child-focused funding to address stark underinvestment. • Strategic recommendations for ODA-contributing countries to amplify impact and meet SDGs. Interested in understanding how strategic investment in children can shape a sustainable future? Read the full report and join the conversation on how we can better allocate resources for maximum impact: https://lnkd.in/gpEwbg-e Let’s commit to making every dollar count for the development of our children and our world! #ChildDevelopment #SustainableDevelopment #ODA #WorldVision

I dont really know if you have a observed with keen interest that most of these institutions/organisations that make calls to solicit for submissions of project proposals or ideas from young people are too quick to respond to projects that centers or borders around hosting a workshop or a public awareness(Sensitization) program than those projects that address the actual practical needs of people .These organisations are quick to fund conference events or meetings where people just meet to talk , speak good english ,take good photos and it ends there, but they will find it difficult to fund an actual need or what is needed to have the actual problem solved. These organisations will find it difficult to inject funds into projects that stimulate the actual enterprenuerial activity like giving the actual capital to individuals to start the businesses but will support an event(Conference) where will people will meet talk about entepreneurship and it ends there. Some organisations that claim to advocate for youth /women participation in governance and Civic space dont address the actual problem, such as limited finance to support those aspiring for leadership, but will spent alot of funds on hosting a workshop to talk about challenges that limit youths/women from participating in those spaces when they have the actual means.Recently, in the past 3 weeks there was a call for application by some Ministry which requested youths to submit innovative solutions/projects either in Mental health , SRHRS and Youth Upskilling, You would be surprise to note that majority of projects which were shortlisted surrounded on hosting awarnesss program or a workshop of some kind, and for desperate young people the only motivation for attending such events is to get a transport refund (Allowance). If we want to promote to the actual youth upskilling or Job creation lets invest in actual solutions that help address the actual needs like helping with seed Capital , sponsoring of youths for skills development programs like Carpentry, metal fabrication and many others .Kingsley Chipulu Ndola based Youth Advocate
