Leaders, I had so much fun being panelist for the Saint Ignatius College Prep Business Society on April 11. Our topic: The business landscape and artificial intelligence (AI). Great discussion with fellow panelists Chunka Mui (our fantastic moderator), Ashwin Devnani, Don Rescigno and Larry Weithers and great discussions after the panel the many attendees. We know AI is changing our work life and personal lives. It's both exciting and a bit scary. I walked away feeling better. There are a lot of good people out there who are asking the right questions. I saw evidence of leaders paying attention, ready to engage and keep each other in check. Don't Mess It Up Our moderator Chunka relayed to the group, what his young daughter told him when discussing how he works with leaders on the future. She looked at him and sincerely said to him "Don't mess it up." Let's all be #warmdemanders of each other when it comes to how we use AI in our organizations. There's a lot at stake, but we got this.

What a great feeling to apply what I've learned! 🎓 After the weekend with Prof. Marco Morelli, I understood which key financial metrics to focus on. Then, on Monday, during Prof. Americo Bazzoffia's presentation, I had the insight to use AI for calculating these metrics and stratifying 4 competitors based on the number of companies in my industry and my company's ranking in terms of EBIT and revenue. 📊🤖 Today, we had a strategic meeting in the company to turn these insights and data into actionable decisions that will drive business improvements, free up resources, and do all of this without losing sight of the patient perspective and the value created along the patient journey. 💡 Education and business at all levels. "It is better to have the philosophy of thinking more than your competitors, than spending more than them." – David Ogilvy I like this quote, and think it has become more relevant than ever. The more we outsource to AI, the more we need to demonstrate our value through higher order thinking. i.e. to shift our activity up the 'value pyramid'. This means spending less time doing low value tasks, and more time engaging your brain in higher level activity: critical thinking, strategic thinking, creative thinking, problem-solving, learning and development – the outcome-orientated stuff.
