In today's AI-driven world, how can you discern what is real or fake and identify who can truly add value to your organization? There was a time when AI was scarcely mentioned, and many businesses avoided discussing it. Most venture capitalists (VCs) even discouraged mentioning AI in pitches, viewing it as taboo. Now, however, VCs often require some form of AI in a business model before considering funding. I believe that genuine AI companies stand out by having a strong competitive edge or a unique approach to solving real-world problems for real people. It's time to demonstrate tangible results and provide real value, not just make promises.

#Venture capital firms are using AI-driven platforms to find investments in technologies that they would not normally consider. But the question is whether these #AI models actually mitigate biased investing or actually make it worse. Venture capital is one of the most biased asset classes in existence, with only 1% of capital going to black and Latinx founders. Can AI models be built so investors really 'see' deals that wouldn't normally appear on their radar because of bias? In this story I unpack the potential of AI to scout deals: https://lnkd.in/eDU7VcJ4

Lots of conversations about AI and LLMs these days. I think that it will be similar the California Gold Rush: the real moneymakers will be in picks & shovels, not in digging for gold. I think General Catalyst's Hemant Taneja has it right: "To me, the bulk of AI’s value will be its role in transforming industries and business functions." Now we have to think about how to apply this in healthcare. I don't think AI-first companies will be the winners (see: Olive)--it will be companies that are patient / member first, but embedding AI in everything they do. https://lnkd.in/gKHQ27Rw
