I have never mentioned or posted anything about the property side of what I do on linkedin or other social media, I generally kept it totally separate from my Engineering Profession. However, there is a book launch today that has prompted me to change this, or to add a little extra information into what I do or can do. Outside of Engineering I have been 'investing in property' on and off for over 20 years. I have had some good and some really bad experiences. The crash in 2008 in particular was particularly bad, so much so i stepped away for a long time. Apart from the crash, the biggest issue was not really knowing what I was doing I was learning by my mistakes ( painful and expensive). I have over the last few years tried to educate myself in the investment side of property , learning from other people , taking courses etc. Over the last 2 years in particular I have learned so much one source Kevin McDonnell. I had followed Kevin online for the last couple of years and read his first book 'No money Down' which is mind blowing by the way. I made a decision the best way and quickest way ( I'm no spring chicken !) to develop expand would be to work as close as I could with Kevin, I have sat a number of Kevin's courses learned so much and I'm lucky enough to have Kevin as a personal mentor. have you ever tried to raise money to do something, anything? Let me know your story because I'm building stories about it that are successful stories, not so successful stories, and then the crisis burn the barn down stories. These ideas are good. because they communicate the Good, The Bad and The Ugly Raising money is not easy. It isn't as easy as putting a coffee cup on a sidewalk that's for sure because this one has never worked 😎🪄 This firm Ko-Fi is owned by PayPal and is the front door to payment mechanisms for small organizations. I use this thing just to try it out to see what low end payments for small business means... https://lnkd.in/gutVZr-t This is kind of like the raising money to sing a song on the street to a passing stranger. I do know, that once in awhile, I'll see someone trying to raise some capital for a coffee and I have a small discussion with them and I'll buy them a coffee because the discussion was worth it to me and hopefully the coffee was worth it to them. There's a reciprocity in this or that it's just paying it forward but this is a way to experiment how exchanges of information and thoughts and empathy go. Can we prove can we prove the the mechanism work? 🪙 ->> ☕ -->> 🏦?
