You Don’t Build Great Products By: - Copying Apple or OpenAI. They have different resources and context. - Chasing flashy tools while ignoring actual user problems. - Adding features because competitors do, not because users need them. - Overlooking broken team dynamics and hoping tools will fix them. You Build Great Products By: - Understanding what users do, not just what they say. - Fixing team collaboration for seamless execution. - Focusing on fewer, high-impact features. - Driving decisions with a clear, adaptable strategy. Borrowed playbooks and shiny frameworks feel productive but won’t deliver. True progress lies in nailing users, teams, and focus.

people don’t fall in love with technology. they fall in love with how it makes them feel it’s funny, isn’t it? we marvel at cutting-edge tools, but we only truly remember the ones that connect with us emotionally think about it, why do people still talk about the iPod launch from years ago? It wasn’t the tech specs, it was 1,000 songs in your pocket. no matter how advanced the technology, its success hinges on these three things: 1. clarity: simplicity over jargon, make it effortless to understand 2. relevance: it needs to solve a human problem, not just show off innovation 3. emotion: does it spark joy, trust, or even curiosity? in the race to innovate, it’s easy to forget this: technology serves people, not the other way around so, here’s a thought Is the tech you’re building speaking to your audience’s heart, or just their head? #saasai #technology

The recent Apple Intelligence announcement really gave me a lot to think about as an AI developer and product builder. Overall, it follows a theme of deeper integration of generative AI technology with the current software ecosystem. It’s exciting progress but certain paths and strategies feel different and important to get right. The Siri + ChatGPT integration is one such example. Assistants building on other assistants feel like a cool idea but so much can go wrong from a user experience perspective. Really curious how this turns out long term for Apple. Here's our latest Category Pirates video on Apple's AI strategy. Apple's conclusion is: 1. AI is not a new category. 2. AI is making every category new. Smart choice to co-opt Open AI and MSFT vs. compete with them. And there's no doubt AI will re-invigorate the iPhone trade up cycle, as local AI will requires more memory and compute on your iPhone. Though we hope Apple has more cards up its sleeve and uses AI to make Vision Pro and other wholly new categories a reality! https://lnkd.in/gEgD7ner

A founder known for extreme attention to detail (you probably follow him) pushed our predictive typing AI to become better than Apple's. Originally, he reached out through our web form. They'd already tested our demo API against every other solution out there. First call, they skipped the usual demo — they already knew they wanted it. What followed was 6 months of detailed feedback and iterations. Their constant refrain: "You have to be better than Apple." We didn't talk pricing or contracts. We just kept improving based on their precise feedback. Our philosophy was: if they're investing this much time testing and refining our product, they'll ask to buy when they're ready. They did. Today, our tech is part of their stack. Often, the best deals come from letting your product quality speak for itself.
