Shocking events occurring in the Red Sea, outlined in the video from the Wall Street Journal. How will this crisis, which began back in October, continue to effect the global supply chain? Ships are finding ways to mitigate attacks such as taking an alternative route (Around the Cape of Good Hope), turning off their AIS signals, stating they have armed guards on board, etc. The technology and planning that is going into these attacks is worrisome. The prevention techniques, especially the alternative routes, will continue to raise consumer costs globally. Feel free to click the link and watch the video below. #globalsupplychain #cargoships #redsea

Strike over. Now the hustle starts to get vessels onto berth, and it's likely to be chaotic. Carriers will be updating schedules constantly, as will terminal operators - and that can be a mess to track. Let eeSea do that for you. We have three tools for you: - attached are two lists of all vessels inbound in the next 7d; one per port and one per vessel - also a graph showing expected port calls through the end of the week across all USEC/USG ports. It can be filtered per port or terminal, reach out if you're interested - all this is updated live on the eeSea platform - app.eesea.com. Free access for the next 14 days; drop us a note to get you online The files are put in this public Google Drive folder due to size limitations (https://lnkd.in/d2vE3j4v). let us know if you can't access it, and we'll be happy to share it by mail. Note that in this chaotic aftermath, schedules change by the hour. We'll be following and updating them live and giving you the grand overview, as well as the details.

Fake flags, rogue registries, and dark fleets: A major threat to maritime safety and security... The shipping industry is essential to the global economy, but it is also facing a serious challenge from fraudulent activities. Fake flags, rogue registries, and dark fleets are all practices that threaten maritime safety, security, and environmental protection. Fake flags: Ships can fly flags from countries that they have no real connection to. This allows them to avoid safety inspections and regulations. Rogue registries: These are countries that offer flags to ships without properly vetting them. This makes it easy for criminals to operate ships anonymously. Dark fleets: These are groups of ships that deliberately avoid detection by authorities. They are often used for illegal activities such as smuggling and piracy. These practices pose a number of risks: Reduced safety: Ships that are not properly inspected are more likely to be involved in accidents. Environmental damage: Ships that are not subject to regulations are more likely to pollute the environment. Increased crime: Dark fleets are often used for illegal activities, such as smuggling and piracy. We all have a role to play in ensuring the safety and security of our oceans. By raising awareness of these issues, we can help to put pressure on governments and the IMO to take action. What are your thoughts on this issue? How can we work together to address these challenges? #maritimesafety #security #environment #shipping #IMO
