Thanks Eric Byer and Alliance for Chemical Distribution (ACD) for having me on the podcast to talk about the East Coast/Gulf Coast port labor negotiations. Just over 2 weeks until the contract extension expires. Time to get a deal or another extension. #supplychain #portdisruption

This morning, I had the opportunity to join Mornings with Maria Bartiromo on Fox Business Network to discuss the critical issue of potential port strikes on the East Coast. The International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) is demanding a total ban on automating cranes, gates, and container movements. The reality is, the United States is already lagging behind the rest of the world in port automation, and failing to modernize would put us at a major global disadvantage. At the Port of Rotterdam, one of the world’s most automated ports, mechanization didn’t result in significant job losses. We need to embrace innovation to remain competitive, support our economy, and future-proof our supply chains. https://lnkd.in/egSwEuZA #Automation #SupplyChain #PortAutomation #Innovation #NAW

It's time to learn more about electric strikes! Q: What is the difference between the 9400/9500? A: The 9400 is a low profile strike designed for Pullman latchbolts that sticks out 1/2" and does not have any additional fire or windstorm ratings. The 9500 is designed for Pullman latchbolts, sticks out 3/4" and has a UL 10C 3 hour single door fire rating (fail secure only). So which strike is best for your application really depends on its requirements. Either way, you can't go wrong with this family of surface mounted strikes! Want to know more? First time in 50 years the Gulf and East Coast #ports will shut down. It could cost the #economy $3.8B-$4.5B per day. The impact throughout the #logistic industry is already being felt as shipments are being rerouted to #Canadian ports. Depending on how long the #strike lasts it could upend current #freight #networks and see a surge in #demand for nontraditional #IOS.
