I always ask my team, “ what do you want out of this job.” They’re never truly sure how to answer that question, and that’s ok. Deep down I know what they want and I do my best to give it to them. * Work/life balance is #1 for me. I don’t force OT as I trust they can get the work they need to get done within the hours they work * Training, I want them to strive to be the best version of themselves which will translate to an excellent team member. * Proper tools/equipment to work safely and efficiently. There’s always more to add to to an endless list, but as leaders, listening to your team is so important. You’ll start to pick things up they’re saying without them having to say them.
Food for thoughtful Thursdays.

https://lnkd.in/gAMNckwD 🍏🏫 School Canteens Aren’t What They Used to Be 🍔🥗 When many of us were kids, school canteens were a place of joy and indulgence. We’d save up our pocket money for a sausage roll, meat pie, or an iced bun. But today’s school canteens have undergone a significant transformation, and it’s a change worth celebrating. 🎉 From Sometimes Food to Nutritious Meals: School canteens today focus more on health and nutrition than ever before. The old staples of sugary snacks and deep-fried treats are being replaced with balanced meals that support children’s growth and learning. Here’s how: 🥦 Healthier Menus: Modern school canteens offer various nutritious options, including fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. The shift towards healthier choices helps combat childhood obesity and promotes better eating habits. This is because of the nutrition guidelines set by each state and territory. 🥗 Education Through Food: Canteens now play a crucial role in education. They teach children about the importance of a balanced diet and how to make healthier food choices. Many schools integrate these lessons into their curriculum, creating a holistic approach to health education. 🍎 Local and Sustainable: There’s a growing trend of using local food systems and focusing on sustainability. Many canteens work with local farmers and suppliers to provide fresh, seasonal produce. This not only supports local economies but also reduces the environmental impact of food transportation. 👩🍳 Involving the Community: Parents, teachers, and students are increasingly involved in shaping canteen menus. This collaborative approach ensures that the food offered meets the tastes and needs of the school community while adhering to nutritional guidelines. 🥙 Special Dietary Needs: Today’s canteens are more inclusive, offering options for students with dietary restrictions and allergies. This ensures that all children have access to safe and nutritious meals. The transformation of school canteens reflects a broader commitment to children’s health and well-being. It’s about more than just feeding hungry students; it’s about nurturing a healthier, more informed generation. Let’s continue to support and celebrate these positive changes in our schools. #SchoolCanteen #HealthyEating #ChildhoodNutrition #PublicHealth #SustainableFood #Education #AustralianSchoolCanteen

🎅 Santa, snacking on your couch? Mid-delivery milk break? Even Santa needs a KitKat this Christmas. In KitKat’s Santa’s Earned a Break, we see jolly ol’ St. Nick like we’ve never seen him before—lounging mid-delivery, snacking on a KitKat, and asking for a milk refill. It’s a clever twist on KitKat’s iconic “Have a Break” tagline, perfectly timed for the season of overachieving and endless to-do lists. 🎄 Why this spot works: ↳ It humanizes Santa: He’s pulling an all-nighter too—relatable, right? ↳ It flips the script: Santa takes, well, a very unexpected break. ↳ It delivers humor + brand relevance: The classic KitKat snap steals the show, reminding us why we all deserve a moment to breathe. 💡 Marketing takeaway: Humor, relatability, and seasonality are a winning formula. KitKat doesn’t just make us laugh—they reinforce their brand’s core promise, all while staying true to the Christmas spirit. 🎁 Your turn: What’s your favorite holiday ad this year? ⬇️ Share it in the comments. ♻️ Spread the cheer and share with your network. In other countries there is a wonderful tradition of “taking tea” several times a day. Tradition dictates that all work is momentarily set aside so individuals can simply enjoy the company of those they are with at the time. In “25 Days of Taking Tea at Christmastime: Creating Moments of Comfort and Joy,” these suggestions are interwoven with ways to “take tea” during the Christmas season, when we are often so busy with shopping, gift wrapping, baking, and other preparations, we neglect to make connections with the important people in our lives. As you read “25 Days of Taking Tea at Christmastime” and use the corresponding journal pages, you will discover ways to carve out time in your day to create moments with the important people in your life. The greatest gift we can offer others is our presence to those we love and are called to serve. “25 Days of Taking Tea at Christmastime” can be found at The Bookman or by using the link below. Additional copies can also be found at Kenzie's Be Cafe. Kenzie’s carries several of my other books as well, including my resource book, “The Power of Community Connectedness.” If you purchase a book, will you please let me know? I would love to thank you! If you are local, I would be happy to sign your copy. #takingtea #connections #Christmas 25 Days of Taking Tea at Christmastime: Creating Moments of Comfort and Joy https://a.co/d/chItEC5

Last month, I reviewed my most popular posts racking up almost 523,000 impressions. And these [3] posts got the most views and engagement (collected here so I can look back and reflect on the journey so far): 1. I went to culinary school so our kids would want to eat my food as adults 2. Why Surgeons Should Make Money From Something Other Than Surgery at https://lnkd.in/g8YcBhD5 3. I would not be a lifestyle design entrepreneur today if I'd not been laid off at https://lnkd.in/g4Yy5RnF My stutter step: In the past, I focused almost exclusively on physician branding. And I do want to build thought leadership for my niche audience. HOWEVER Lesson Learned: People want to know who you're becoming (personally). Creators, do you have thoughts on this topic that may help other content creators review their content topic mix?

I went to culinary school so our kids would want to eat my food as adults. At 6 pm, our middle daughter, Sierra will join us for dinner. I’m keeping the fire 🔥 warm for our 26 year old baby girl. Hope you’re feeling respected tonight.

Happy Easter everyone! 🐰🐣 In these days when the Easter spirit is spreading, we would like to share a little story with you about how a good staff association (De Skæve Lameller) can create an even better work environment. ✨☺️ Last Wednesday, we decided to add a little extra joy and laughter to our production and administration. One of our brave employees (Anne Rohde Andersen) dressed up as an Easter bunny and went around the entire company with Easter eggs for everyone. 🍫 It was a fun and surprising twist in our daily routine, and it put a smile on all of our faces. Despite the unusual sight of a full-size rabbit in our production, our Easter bunny was welcomed with open arms and lots of laughter. 😂 This small gesture from our staff association not only created an uplifted energy among the employees, but it also showed how a fun and unexpected activity can contribute to a better work environment. It is precisely such moments that bond us together and strengthen our collaboration. 🚀 De Skæve Lameller believes that it is the small, quirky details that make the difference and create unforgettable moments for our employees. 🥰 So let us remember that it doesn't always require big changes to improve our work environment. Sometimes it can be as simple as an Easter bunny bringing joy to us all. 🐰🐣 We wish you all a fantastic Easter and look forward to even more quirky moments together! 🌟 #arbejdsglæde #arbejdsmiljø #Personaleforeningen
Happy Easter everyone
