In a recent MD Anderson Cancer Center study analyzing re-excision rates in breast-conserving surgery and associated healthcare costs, "Reoperations were associated with 24% higher costs in both the commercial and Medicare cohorts, which translated into $21,607 and $8559 incremental costs, respectively." Read the study and learn how reoperations in #breastcancer care contribute to increased financial burden on the healthcare system. https://lnkd.in/e4Cj88GT

Excited to share my latest publication in the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC) "Oncologic outcomes of incidental serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma and associated high-grade serous carcinoma in high-risk patients undergoing risk-reducing surgery". This work delves into the outcomes of high-risk patients undergoing risk-reducing surgery and the significance of incidental serous tubal intraepithelial carcinoma (STIC). As we continue to uncover insights into early detection and prevention strategies for high-grade serous carcinoma, I’m proud to contribute to advancing gynecologic oncology care and empowering patients at risk. Check out the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gDr8kT5K A big thank you to my co-authors, mentors, and collaborators who made this research possible. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of knowledge in this field! 🌟 #GynecologicOncology #Research #STIC #HGSC #CancerPrevention #MDAnderson
