It's reported that childcare expenses during school holidays soar by nearly £1,700 per month, with younger parents facing even higher costs. Many believe flexible working could ease this burden, but access to such options remains limited. We would love to hear your thoughts 💭 Should more employers offer flexible arrangements to support working parents, or is there another solution to address these rising costs? #FlexibleWorking #ChildcareCosts #Inclusion

Deep in childcare tours at the moment and it’s striking how women-dominated this workforce is. Yet to come across one male-identifying childcare worker. And so it’s no great surprise that it’s also one of the most under-valued and underpaid industries, and yet also one we expect so, so much from and one where we see so many highly skilled and knowledgeable educators and carers. AND an industry where we grapple with the such workforce challenges and shortages. Some policy problems are easy. Pay childcare workers more, value their work more, increase gender diversity and make this a vocation to which men and women alike aspire. There’s the solution.

Today may be April Fool's Day, but the harsh reality of childcare costs in America is no joke. As you know, I post a lot about the daily struggle of balancing career aspirations with the financial burden of childcare expenses. It's no laughing matter when families are forced to make tough choices just to make ends meet. It's a conversation my wife and I have daily. And since no real solution has been proposed on a legislative level, it's up to us to draw attention and to keep talking about it. Let's continue our work together to advocate for affordable childcare solutions and support working parents in achieving a better work-life balance. #ChildcareCosts #WorkingParents #AprilFoolsDay

According to a survey by Japan's health ministry, the proportion of male corporate workers taking childcare leave jumped from 17.1% in 2022 to 30.1% in 2023. The duration of leave is also increasing. This rise is partly due to a requirement, in effect since April 2022, for employers to inform their employees about the parental leave system regardless of gender and to confirm their leave intentions. The government aims to increase paternity leave uptake in the private sector to 50% by 2025. #parentalleave #childcare

June marks the start of summer—and the beginning of childcare headaches for many. While childcare is a year-round issue, the end of the school year is particularly challenging. Flexible work options, paid leave benefits, and subsidized child care can set employers apart. Politicians often debate family leave laws without much change. Employers, however, can make an immediate impact by offering these benefits. As the founder of Rose Talent Consulting LLC, I've seen how much these perks mean to job seekers, especially women, who are more affected by childcare issues than men. Improving gender equity in your company can start with addressing childcare needs
