Over 90% of employers value “soft skills” as much, or more than technical skills. But the catch is this: brilliant minds often go unnoticed for lacking these key traits. Want to stand out? Focus on these: → Be easy to work with You make collaboration smooth, and people want you around. → Stay honest Builds a reputation of trust that lasts beyond any role. → Adopt a growth mindset Keeps you adaptable, resilient, and always learning. → Get things done Results speak louder than any résumé. → Avoid drama Keeps focus where it matters most. → Be consistent The quiet, unflashy key to long-term success. These qualities set standout performers apart. They’re rare and can’t be faked—they’re habits, built over time. The journey of pushing beyond limits has shown me new levels of what's possible. It’s both exciting and eye-opening. The process hasn’t been easy, but it’s been rewarding. Here are a few key lessons I’ve learned along the way: 𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 → Trusting in my capabilities has opened doors I never thought possible. Unleash the confidence. 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 → Growth happens outside of our comfort zones. Get used to feeling uncomfortable. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 → Knowing what I need to ensure the best version of myself always shows up, and learning from others has been crucial in this journey. → 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 Surrounding myself with like-minded, ambitious people has provided the support needed to keep pushing. Don’t sell yourself short. There’s so much more within you than you think. If you're a Goggins fan, that number is 60%. Keep pushing, keep striving, and watch as you begin to access new potential. "𝘞𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵" 🪴 I've heard this from multiple employers. But what it means isn't that simple. Carol Dweck coined the phrase in her book: 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 (published 2006) But even she professes that: === “𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵” 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢 𝘣𝘶𝘻𝘻𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘫𝘰𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵𝘴 𝘸𝘢𝘺 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴. === 𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭? "Belief that people's most basic abilities can be developed through 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 and a 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 that is essential for great accomplishment.” ( Dweck, 2015) Key words here are: 1/ Dedication 2/ Hard work 3/ Learning 4/ Resilience But how does one exemplify this? More importantly, demonstrate to an employer? 📽️ Examples of personal projects you're working on 🧐 Engagement in the community or industry 🌊 Stories about challenges you've overcome 🎓 Lots of certificates and short courses This is what some employers look for to assess whether a candidate has a 'growth mindset'! (and what I look for 😉)

Rejection sucks Especially when it's not on your terms Looking back, every rejection was a redirection to something better—personally and professionally (and of course came on its own timeline). Rejection doesn’t define you. It is not a game-ender It’s a bend in the road to something better. Here's how to stay mentally ahead of the game 1. 𝗔𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻. - Cry, Meditate or scream (guilty!) - Let go to make space for new opportunities. 2. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀. - Questions you were asked to learn from. - Get feedback. What areas you can work on for next time? 3. 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁. - Don't let this define you. - Recognize this as a stepping stone to growth. 4. 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸. - Connect with individuals in your industry. - Join communities that align with your career goals. 5. 𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻. - Rejection is a great opportunity to reflect. - Were you truly passionate about the job? Was it the right fit for you? Always remember: If not this, it is something better You got this. _______________________________________ Hi, I’m Mallory I help high achievers gain the clarity and confidence they need to take bold steps toward a career that aligns with their true potential. 🎯 I have 2 more spots in my Career ONPurpose 3 month coaching program. 🔗 Link in bio, lets find time to chat

Here’s ONE SKILL to help you THRIVE in ANY career? 🤔 (Good News: You probably already have it in you, already) It’s being easy to work with. ⚠️ Caution: Being easy to work with is more than just saying “yes” to everything. Let me break it down for you: 1️⃣ Be Focused 🎯 ↳ When a task is assigned, give it your full attention and dive in immediately. Procrastination won’t get you far. 2️⃣ Communicate Clearly ↳ Unsure about something? Don’t sit on it—ask questions and get clarification. Clear communication = better results. 🗣️ 3️⃣ Take Initiative 💪 ↳ It’s not about being a pushover; it’s about being reliable and ready to take charge when needed. 4️⃣ Be Consistent 🔄 ↳ Like any other skill, being easy to work with requires practice and consistency. Show up for your team every time. 5️⃣ Grow Personally 📈 ↳ This skill doesn’t just make you valuable in your job—it helps you grow as a person. 🌱 Big shoutout to Dean Elkholy for making this crystal clear! _____________ ♻️ Repost to remind someone that they have it in them to succeed. 🐾 Follow Desma Rovina D'Souza 🎙 for more mindset insights.
