🚨 One week left for Codegeist! 🚨 We’re just 7 days away from the submission deadline for Atlassian #Codegeist '24, and our project #Sparqly is nearly ready to shine! ✨ Our current focus? Crafting an engaging demo video to highlight our use cases and let them sparkle. A key aspect of our project has been refining the prompts for the Rovo agent, designed to make it as simple as possible for users to respond to feedback questions. This turned out to be more complex than it sounds - balancing the wording, complexity, call of Rovo actions and length of prompts while considering diverse input data has been an exciting challenge. We’ve learned so much and are looking forward to exchanging insights with Atlassian and other partner developers. Collaboration always brings out the best ideas! Have you been working with #Forge or #Rovo? I’d love to hear about your experiences. Let’s connect! 🚀

🎄 Happy Dev-cember! 🎄 Dev-cember was born in 2019 as a way to turn any quiet days over the Christmas and New Year period into a time for development. It has a history of being a great initiative for sharpening business processes, refining operations, and preparing for the year ahead. Inspired by the Atlassian "FedEx Days," where teams create and deliver projects overnight, Dev-cember is about making impactful changes in preparation for a new year. It’s a good chance to "work on the business, not in the business" and fix any operational nuisances in time for January. With only a few weeks left to squeeze some juice out of the year, why not make a list (and check it twice) of broken things to fix or new things to build?

In today's market, developer experience is more important than ever. We care, and so does Atlassian. That's why Atlassian built Compass to reduce developers' cognitive load by bringing key information into a single place. OH by Matt Schvimmer at the event on Tuesday, if you have 10 developers working on a single component or service, it's easy to know how it works. If 12 developers touch 12 services (or more!), complexity and sprawl scale exponentially. Today, Jellyfish is thrilled to announce an integration between Jellyfish Dev Ex, our survey product, and Compass. Who knows how your engineering team is functioning? It's probably the Engineers, right? Check it out! You know where to look!

"You're really building the magic potion that goes into building awesome products in a single place. Experimentation is a means to that end, but the end is really building amazing products that your end users will love." -- Rajeev Rajan Couldn't have said it better myself. After joining Statsig, many of my friends asked me -- why build an experimentation tool, when AB testing is as simple as a t-test? Experimentation goes so much beyond it. Experimentation is about focusing on impact, on actions, on development, and on honesty. You need a team who truly understands product development to build such a tool. Statsig is probably the only team on the earth that can achieve this mission. Yet most people didn't have the opportunity to run scalable experiments in their company (because they don't have the infra to do so), so it's hard for them to internalize the tremendous value of it. So I've created this deck to share why experimentation is so important in product development: https://lnkd.in/gSu49Y-d And I'll do a webinar on this topic on 4.11 7pm PST, you can sign up here: https://lnkd.in/gm_8_brp
We recently hosted a fireside chat with CTO of Atlassian, Rajeev Rajan, and CEO/Founder of Statsig, Vijaye R., at our StatsigHQ! "It's a learning journey to understand the full power of experimentation" - CTO of Atlassian, Rajeev Rajan #statsig #abtesting #featureflags #cto #developercommunity

#GenerativeAI & #Software #engineering- new era of developer velocity! In the past two years, generative AI has foundationally changed the developer landscape largely as a tool embedded inside the developer environment. 📆 In 2022, we launched #GitHub #Copilot as an autocomplete pair programmer in the editor, boosting developer productivity by up to 55%. This was even before we were all wowed by #ChatGPT! 📆 In 2023, we released #GitHub #Copilot #Chat —unlocking the power of natural language in coding, debugging, and testing—allowing developers to converse with their code in real time. 📆 Now, in 2024, we are reimagining the nature of the developer experience itself with the technical preview of #GitHub #Copilot #Workspace: the Copilot-native developer environment. Within Copilot Workspace, developers can now brainstorm, plan, build, test, and run code in natural language. 🖇 This new task-centric experience leverages different Copilot-powered agents from start to finish while giving developers full control over every step of the process. For the #Telecom industry, which boasts such strong software engineering teams, this is a great opportunity to leverage the power of Copilot to build new innovative digital services. From #Telco to #Techco #Microsoft #AI
