In a world buzzing with AI and innovation, this is what real progress means to me:
Over the past year, I often found myself monitoring migrations over the weekend. Why? To inform customers they could use our product in the Cloud even before the migration was fully complete—because it had already reached a safe state.
But here’s the catch: that status was only visible from the backend.
Thanks to Atlassian’s open and responsive culture, my feedback was heard. They implemented a simple yet powerful flag that now lets customers know when they can safely release their Jira+Zephyr data into production earlier.
This change doesn’t just improve one product—it’s a win for other apps and, most importantly, for our customers, who are building the most amazing things on the planet.
It might seem small, but do you know how much it takes to surface a need like this, champion it across teams and companies, and finally see it land in the right hands to become a reality?
To me, that’s progress—putting customers first and making their lives easier through collaboration and innovation.
Here’s to more weekends where our tools empower, rather than require, us to monitor. 🚀
Thank you Chuck Talk, Truman S., and Andre Rosot for this. And to SmartBear's Engineering team for implementing it on our side 🧡
