Top Countries by Fossil Fuel Consumption in 2023 🌍💡 The latest report from the Energy Institute reveals the rankings of the top countries by fossil fuel consumption (coal, natural gas, and oil) for 2023. 🇨🇳 China leads the list with a total consumption of 146 exajoules (equivalent to 174 million barrels of oil), followed by 🇺🇸 the United States with 140 exajoules. 🇮🇳 India ranks third with 76 exajoules, while 🇷🇺 Russia records a consumption of 35 exajoules. Countries like 🇯🇵 Japan, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia, and 🇮🇷 Iran have consumption ranging from 12 to 15 exajoules. The lower end of the list includes 🇨🇦 Canada, 🇩🇪 Germany, 🇮🇩 Indonesia, and 🇬🇧 the United Kingdom, with consumption ranging from 5 to 9 exajoules. 📊 These figures highlight the critical importance of transitioning to more sustainable energy sources and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels. #Oil #NaturalGas #Coal #Energy #Sustainability #FossilFuels #LinkedIn

this is often the issue on #studies we do Volta Swiss on #renewableenergie that #environmentalcost of petrol is not reflected on the price, giving a major obstacle for renewable energy projects. Though some #investmentsupport is started to be available on renewable, but running on oil is still too cheap! 😞 #hydrogen #greenfuture

🇨🇳 NEW | Scorecard: China’s clean energy trends could cut emissions by 30% in 2035 if sustained To achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement, China must set the strong but achievable target of reducing emissions by at least 30% by 2035 ✔️ ❌ CREA's new scorecard provides benchmark reductions and recommended policy targets across different sectors to include in China's NDCs and hit the target 🎯 China achieving at least 30% CO2 emission reductions by 2035 compared to 2023 would demand an absolute emission reduction target set by the central gov't 🌫️ A reduction of non-CO2 emissions in its NDCs or a separate plan could help China reduce at least 35% of these gases by 2035 ☀️ 💨 By sustaining RE expansion rate, China could cut 30% of power sector emissions & increase non-fossil energy share to > 40% 💡 This requires RE capacity of 5,000GW by 2035 & halting approvals of all new unabated coal power plants 🏭 Industrial emissions must decrease by at least 25% by 2035, particularly in steel and cement 💡 This requires > 30% share of low-carbon steelmaking, expanding China’s National ETS to other sectors, and a yearly declining emissions cap 🚗 Transport sector emissions must drop to 2020 levels via increasing EV sales to 60% of all vehicle sales 🚆 Rail freight should increase to 25% 🏢 Building emissions must decline by at least 40% by 2035, requiring all new buildings to meet low-carbon standards; 25% of existing buildings to be retrofitted; and renewable heating shares to reach 40% by 2035 🌲 Afforestation and reforestation land cover should be increased by at least 15% by 2035, compared to 2025 📄 The full analysis is now available here: ➡ https://lnkd.in/eF-BmCJ3 #China #CleanEnergy #CleanAir #Coal #Renewables #EnergyPolicy #Decarbonisation

We know you're tired of the endless fuel queues & skyrocketing #fuel prices? ⛽️ 🚫 "I've had enough! 😤 That's why I decided to convert my car to CNG. It's been a game-changer!" ~ Client. If you're considering switching to CNG, we highly recommend it. It's a small investment. It's a small investment with a big payoff. Here's why we recommend it: • Cost-effective: Saving a ton on fuel costs every month. • Reliable: No more worrying about fuel shortages and long lines. • Environmentally friendly: CNG is a cleaner alternative to traditional fuels. • Government support: Take advantage of the incentives and subsidies available. Looking at converting to Autogas (CNG/LPG)? The #Draghi report makes plain the challenges of turning the EU's climate policy into a reality: access to sufficient renewables at affordable prices. Given the significant price disparity between conventional and clean fuels and stiff competition from other transport modes for biofuels and e-fuels, shipping is struggling to make progress. Bridging the price gap and building the supply chain will be among the topics under discussion at next week's #SmartMaritimeNetwork #SMAGIC24 panel 'Navigating Towards Sustainability'. We will also consider the role of ports, infrastructure development and what (if anything) we can learn from other industries. #sustainability #maritime #shipping #energytransition #decarbonization #renewables Learn more and register: https://lnkd.in/erFNQvWk

"While there are numerous headlines about Australia’s potential to become a leading international supplier of #hydrogen, a number of local companies are quietly placing the nation at the forefront of the “clean” ammonia market. "#Cleanammonia, which doesn’t emit carbon dioxide when burned, is expected to become a next-generation fuel as it contains properties ideally suited for the hydrogen economy. "The energy fuel is particularly favoured by Asian nations such as Japan, as it is considered easier to transport and store than hydrogen." We can't build and scale a green hydrogen economy without both supply and demand, and right now: almost 90% of the 1,600 globally planned green hydrogen production plants have no contracted buyer, and can't get built without one. The key takeaway? Supporting contract uptake is crucial for advancing the green hydrogen sector. This means creating more market certainty around green hydrogen-based fuels as the fuels of the future and mechanisms for smaller but higher-ambition players to get offers to the table and accepted. Thanks to initiatives like Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA) working to aggregate demand for future fuels, the industry is already starting to signal support for cleaner fuels and move us closer to a green hydrogen-fueled future for the sector (for applications where electrification isn't feasible or practical), but we need many more high ambition, first movers willing and able to put pen to paper and commit to this pathway and help these projects move forward. If you're a port policymaker or industry partner working to advance the clean energy economy and climate action in the maritime sector, let's connect at High Ambition Climate Collective - where you can join our movement to accelerate a cleaner, greener future for ports and shipping worldwide. -- Learn more from Bloomberg News: https://lnkd.in/gxgGJ6eQ #greenhydrogen #h2 #decarbonization #cleanfuels #zeroemissionfuels #maritimefuels #shipping #industry #ports #cleanenergy #energytransition #futurefuels #methanol

Whether you support H2 or not, if there is no demand for it, where are you going to sell it - after you make it - who is buying it? Where are the clear indicators from any industry demanding Tons of H2? These are all very important supply and demand, basic economics...
