🌏 Embracing #GenderEquity in Circular Futures - Australia's Path to Sustainability - In my role as Global Chair for Circular Economy (G100: Mission Million) I am pleased to announce the establishment of the G100 Circular Economy Wing in Australia represented by Mansi Zaveri. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our collective efforts to foster inclusive ecosystems and recognize the indispensable contributions of women in driving our transition towards sustainable and resilient futures within the #CircularEconomy framework.
🇦🇺 Australia stands at the cusp of a transformative journey towards a circular economy, recognizing the urgency to shift away from the unsustainable 'take-make-waste' model. As recent research and policy initiatives highlight, the transition is not merely a paradigm shift but a systematic overhaul impacting government, business, and consumers alike. CSIRO's report underscores Australia's material use dynamics, signaling a pressing need to bolster circularity efforts.
🌐 #CrossCulturalPartnerships: As we navigate this transformative journey, the significance of cross-cultural and interdisciplinary partnerships, including the education sector, is essential to drive inclusive circular solutions and navigate complex challenges effectively.
🚺 #GenderEquity: Women play an essential role in progressing within the circular economy movement, assuming leadership roles across industries and becoming essential partners throughout the supply chain in advancing regenerative initiatives. However, addressing the underrepresentation of women at different levels remains crucial for achieving inclusive growth and effectively tackling the multifaceted intersections of climate, environment, biodiversity, and gender. Their involvement is pivotal in fostering sustainable development cooperation across all sectors.
Mansi Zaveri is a perfect representative for our wing to foster contextual necessary discussions about gender equity in circular sectors in #Australia with a special focus on #WestAustralia (WA).
