Even though nurse #turnover and vacancy rates are improving, nursing shortages remain a significant challenge in the healthcare industry. What staffing strategies are healthcare leaders adopting in 2024? One key approach is revising staffing models. Many organizations are focusing on recruiting newly-graduated nurses, adjusting compensation and creating clear career pathways. To build internal talent pipelines, some are training current staff to fill medical assistant vacancies and hiring younger candidates, starting from ages 16 to 18. At OpusVi, we understand the critical role career pathways play in building a loyal, skilled workforce. We’re proud to offer workforce development solutions to help healthcare organizations upskill and reskill top talent. Learn more about these strategies in this article from Becker's Healthcare. #OpusVi #healthcare #healthcareworkforce #nursing #nursesonlinkedin

Are you still struggling with navigating the complexities of healthcare staffing? The COVID-19 pandemic continues to exacerbate longstanding challenges in the nursing profession, leading to severe burnout and increasing concerns about pay reductions. There are more nurses quitting the profession than joining. The healthcare and social assistance sectors have seen a notable increase in hiring, with the number of hires rising by 27% from 625,000 in 2019 to 794,000 in 2023. However, this positive trend is offset by a troubling rise in quits, which have jumped by 31%, from 406,000 in 2019 to 533,000 in 2023. For the past several years, high quit rates have plagued the healthcare industry, driven in large part by workforce pressures exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The resulting burnout and attrition have taken a significant toll on healthcare workers, magnifying fatigue and stress levels. These factors have contributed to a wave of retirements and early departures from the field, further straining an already overburdened system. Are you looking to leverage automation in your staffing firm to boost your margins? Do you want to keep your nurses happy and on your books for longer? In light of these challenges, automation in onboarding and compliance processes offers a crucial advantage. By reducing the administrative burden and speeding up compliance, staffing companies can place nurses in positions faster and at a lower cost. This efficiency directly improves profit margins, allowing staffing firms to offer more competitive pay rates to nurses. By adopting these automated platforms, companies can not only enhance their margins but also attract and retain top talent, gaining a significant edge over the competition. Head to our website to see how Credentially can help you impress your candidates and retain them for longer! https://credentially.io/ #healthcare #nurses #healthcarestaffing #staffing #recruitment

Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) recently published its US Staffing Industry Forecast: September 2024 Update research report as well as its list of 2024 Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms, and there have been some interesting implications for the healthcare sector. SIA Healthcare Research Analyst Crystal Fullilove details these implications in SIA's latest Healthcare Staffing Report. Here are the highlights: 📌 SIA estimated the healthcare staffing industry contracted 22% in 2023 and projects a 19% decline this year. 📌 A handful of overarching factors contributed to this downturn, including a pullback from unsustainable employment levels, lower bill rates and a smaller pool of available clinicians. 📌 Nine out of the top 10 fastest-growing staffing firms are from the healthcare sector — seven travel nurse firms, one allied firm, and one travel nurse and allied firm. 📌 Healthcare firms accounted for 43% of the 145 staffing companies on the full 2024 Fastest-Growing Staffing Firms list. A recent chilling report by #SIA (Staffing Industry Analysts) found that nearly a third of nurse leaders change jobs next year, the main reason being burnout and challenging work conditions. The stated reasons in the SIA report were burnout of nurse leaders, challenges in staff nurse recruitment and retention, and labor shortages. Many nurse leaders rely on healthcare staffing firms to fill the positions, so it's essential to have a knowledgeable team and a great system that interacts and engages with staff nurses looking for the next opportunity. Healthcare professional recruitment poses a unique challenge compared to IT or engineering fields. A fully integrated healthcare ATS platform streamlines this process by offering an end-to-end solution. Look for intuitive ATS systems allowing customizable workflows, cost sheet management, and seamless credentialing. Additionally, ensure integration with VMS systems, omnichannel communication (text, email, phone), and an open ecosystem connecting major healthcare platforms for unmatched efficiency and collaboration. This comprehensive approach empowers healthcare organizations to find the perfect talent, benefiting nurses, patients, and the industry. #healthcarecommunity #healthcarestaffing #healthcareinnovation Ceipal #healthcare TextToHire Procurewise

Healthcare staffing has experienced significant growth during the pandemic, with hospitals relying on contingent workers and crisis staffing. However, the industry is also facing long-term trends such as increasing the number of registered nurses entering the field, nurse practitioners and physician assistants, and the rise of healthcare staffing platforms. The nursing shortage is projected to reach 193,100 openings annually, with nurse graduates entering the field rising by 36% in 2023. The rise of these professionals is expected to help reduce burnout and improve patient care. The rise of healthcare staffing platforms has also become a competitive advantage, with travel nurses' staffing platform market soaring by 340% from 2020 to 2022. As the healthcare industry evolves, staffing firms are offering a range of workforce solutions to cater to changing client needs, such as MSP, RPO, executive search, crisis staffing, and international staffing. Rang Healthcare also offers a range of workforce options to respond to evolving client demands across the United State. #RangHealthcare #HealthcareStaffing #RangTech #HealthcareStaffing #NursingShortage #PandemicResponse #ContingentWorkers #CrisisStaffing #RegisteredNurses #NursePractitioners #PhysicianAssistants #StaffingPlatforms #TravelNurses #WorkforceSolutions #MSP #RPO #ExecutiveSearch #InternationalStaffing #HealthcareGrowth #PatientCare #BurnoutPrevention #HealthcareCompliance #Onboarding

I’m excited to share key insights from SIA’s US Healthcare Staffing Market Assessment: 2024 Update report. The healthcare staffing industry is evolving, with several important long-term trends: Increase in Registered Nurses: Despite an expected annual shortage of 193,100 positions, the number of nursing graduates rose by 36% in 2023. This positive trend can help reduce nurse burnout and improve patient care with better nurse-to-patient ratios. However, the slight decline in the NCLEX pass rate underscores the need for focused support and preparation for new nurses. Expansion of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants: Employment in these roles is expected to grow by 45% and 27% respectively by 2032. This growth is fueled by an aging population, better geographic access to care, and the growing use of team-based care models. NPs and PAs are increasingly taking on duties traditionally managed by physicians, providing cost-effective and high-quality care. Growth of Healthcare Staffing Platforms: The platform model showed its scalability and efficiency during the pandemic, with the travel nurse market increasing by 340% from 2020 to 2022. Platforms now represent over 20% of temporary staffing revenue for travel nurses, per diem, and allied health professionals. The locum tenens segment, though smaller, is experiencing significant growth and may soon be a major area of disruption. At Evolve Healthcare, we are committed to adapting to these trends by offering innovative and comprehensive workforce solutions. Our services, including MSP, RPO, executive search, crisis staffing, and international staffing, are designed to meet our clients' evolving needs and ensure the highest standards of patient care. As we navigate these changes, we remain dedicated to providing exceptional staffing solutions that support the healthcare industry’s vital mission.
