I highly recommend you take the time, even if you are not a PRSA member to download the new misinformation guide. I fully believe this "“Misinformation today is, in fact, one of the biggest threats to our profession—and to society and democracy itself.” We have to educate people to look at the resources where they are getting there information and research before sharing. #PRSA

The only 2 questions, you'll ever need, to open up your prospects... 🤖 "Can i ask John, what was it about the ad that caught your attention?" 🤖 "How do you see us possibly helping you?" -------------------------------------------------------- 1️⃣ The purpose of the first question is to find out why they got in touch. A great follow on question to the first: ↳ "What did you mean by.....(plug in what they told you) The key here is to dig a little deeper. -------------------------------------------------------- 2️⃣ The purpose of this question is to understand what their expectations are, how they see you helping them. A great follow on question to the second: ↳ "Why is it important NOW to get, (the help they need)" --------------------------------------------------------- Remember the key here is to establish if there's a sale to be made in the first place. You want to be a detective. Uncover the real issues. All eyes on (THEM 👀) ------------------------------------------------------- LISTEN!!!!!!!!!!!! To their tone. If you can sense some skepticism or resistance, then.. Call it out. "John i noticed when i asked you (xyz) you sounded hesitant. Off the record, just so i can fully understand what help you need, to make sure we can really help you" ---------------------------------------------------------- ⚠️ Don't forget: ➙ You are there to establish ONLY if you can help them. ➙ To find out there's a sale to be made in the first place! Story of the week: A recent Morning Consult poll reveals a resurgence in American adults' trust in major media outlets, climbing to 55% from a 2020 low of 51%. This uptick, although modest, signifies a critical shift amidst the backdrop of 2020’s widespread skepticism. This regained trust includes a broad spectrum of media like ABC News, The New York Times, Fox Business Network and NPR. This shift presents a nice opportunity for PR professionals because as trust in these outlets begins to mend, it enhances our ability to effectively communicate and resonate with broader audiences. However, it's crucial to note that while trust is on the rise, skepticism remains. This emphasizes the importance of a nuanced approach when aiming to engage different audiences. With network news reigning as the most trusted yet offering limited opportunities due to its format, and local news holding higher trust levels despite facing intense challenges, the strategy for PR practitioners becomes one of careful selection and a strong understanding of the media ecosystem. No matter what the approach is, we must always aim to foster communication that resonates deeply and facilitates understanding and progress. #PublicRelations #MediaTrust #mediarelations #StrategicCommunication https://lnkd.in/e4RsETyV

Considering it’s the day after a bank holiday, we want to thank everyone who attended our webinar on 'Beyond the Spam: Mastering Effective Outreach Campaigns' 🙌. Also, a big thank you to The Agency Collective | B Corp Certified for hosting us. Co-founder Louis led the charge, providing advice on the biggest mistakes businesses make with their outreach campaigns and actionable points to overcome them. Because we’re allowed to big ourselves up (sometimes), here is our favourite quote from the session: “Really informative and refreshingly hype-free!” A few “brilliant” and “really interesting” were thrown in there too! 👉 missed our session? Or interested in finding out how you can make your outreach more effective? Get in touch and let’s see how we can help.
