Maintaining our horses’ health and safety is a significant responsibility. Each year, it costs more than $6,000 per horse to cover essential needs like feed, grain, and hay, along with helmets, boots, and safety gear for the children. As winter approaches, additional needs arise to winterize their stalls, provide medications, and ensure our horses have everything they need to thrive. Your support can make all the difference. NCC continues to support learning among children and young people. This year’s Christmas donation of SEK 1.5 million will go to four organizations in the Nordic region that provide tutoring for children and young people, which can expand opportunities for a career in construction and civil engineering. 🎄 Read more here: https://lnkd.in/daxfjTwP “We know that education gives children and young people more opportunities for the future. By supporting organizations that provide tutoring, especially in mathematics and the natural sciences, we can encourage more young people to choose a career in engineering,” says Tomas Carlsson, President and CEO of NCC. In total, NCC is donating SEK 1.5 million, divided equally among the countries where NCC operates. In Denmark, Finland and Norway, the Christmas donation will go to the Red Cross, which supports children who do not have access to tutoring in the home. In Sweden, the donation will go to the tutoring agency Mattecentrum, which offers support free of charge to improve and stimulate students’ knowledge of and interest in mathematics.

Today, we partnered with Ucluelet Co-op to make a joint donation of $300,000 over three years to the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Centre in Tofino, B.C. Our support will lead to the establishment of the Co-op Community Teaching Kitchen within the Centre. This facility will help facilitate the sharing of traditional Indigenous knowledge and practices with younger generations while empowering community members with newfound culinary and nutritional skills. “This is a unique opportunity for Co-op to support a special project in a diverse region of Western Canada. This project represents an important commitment to Indigenous Peoples in the region and recognizes our continued and steadfast support of truth and reconciliation,” said Heather Ryan, CEO, Federated Co-operatives Limited.

Dr. Ruth Gottesman's recent act of generosity symbolizes the transformative power of education… particularly in underserved communities like the Bronx (NYC’s poorest borough). Education equips us with the knowledge and skills that are necessary to navigate the world and contribute to our communities. The result of a good education means societal progress and individual opportunity. This donation underscores the importance of investing in education (especially in fields like medicine) where access to quality healthcare can really impact lives! Having tuition taken care of eliminates a significant financial barrier that often prevents people from pursuing their dreams… it helps democratize access to education, ensuring that talented and passionate individuals (regardless of their socioeconomic background) have the opportunity to pursue careers… which, in turn, helps social mobility and our communities. I'm swimming 120km from Jan to Dec 2024 to raise funds for the Meniere’s Society. Please donate generously. https://lnkd.in/e5ENpGCv As some of you know, I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease in 2015. Ménière’s is a chronic disease affecting the inner ear, causing ever-changing tinnitus, various degrees of hearing loss, and disabling vertigo episodes. It’s not curable (yet), and don’t bother investigating the causes, as you won’t get much. I'm fortunate enough to have stabilized it after a couple of years, even if that involves following an annoying no-salt diet, which doesn’t make me the easiest lunch or dinner guest. (Thank you all for your patience!) I've decided to challenge my 2023 record of 100km and complete a 120km swim from January to December 2024 to support the Meniere’s Society. I know it’s no Michael Phelps, but I can guarantee it takes a lot of consistency… The Meniere’s Society is the only registered charity in the UK dedicated solely to supporting people affected by dizziness and balance problems caused by vestibular disorders. They will use the funds to: - Support people affected by vestibular disorders. - Fund essential research projects into the cause, treatment, and management of these life-changing conditions.

The Napoleon Hill Foundation® donates $1M to UVA Wise Scholarship Fund... The Napoleon Hill® Foundation has made a $1 million donation to support UVA Wise's Napoleon Hill Scholars program. The funds will help students learn Hill’s philosophy of self-motivation and leadership, which has provided scholars with the tools and enterprising spirit to become leaders on campus, in the community, and beyond. “We are so grateful for the impact of Napoleon Hill’s work, and the dedication of his devoted foundation, which has improved the lives of our UVA Wise students,” says UVA Wise Chancellor Donna P. Henry. “Our Napoleon Hill Scholars clearly demonstrate personal achievement through Napoleon Hill’s mantra, ‘Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve.’" Foundation CEO and Executive Director, Don M. Green, pictured above (left, center), has spent nearly a quarter of a century promoting Hill’s philosophy. “The Foundation is both fortunate and grateful to have such a dedicated community and group of supporters that allow us to give back to the region where Hill was born and raised,” says Green. “The good folks who buy Hill’s books, recordings, and trainings offered by Foundation are the reason we can continue our efforts. We are challenging you to go through your closets and storage and to ask your family, neighbors and friends for for gently worn, used or new shoes of any age, gender, and size. The shoes in turn will help ROC Stop Seizures to raise funds to further its mission to raise awareness for those with Epilepsy and Veterans with Battle Induced Seizure Disorders but will also help developing countries to create jobs and get shoes to those who are in need.
