Introducing Obulu Coffee's newest member of the family, Papua New Guinea! 😍 This delightful, medium-roast specialty coffee is from Papua New Guinea. We love its interesting flavor profile, which displays tropical mango fruit, citrus, and the mild richness of brown butter. Tasting notes: Tropical Fruit, Citrus, Brown Butter Origin: Chimbu Province, Papua New Guinea Medium Roast Papua New Guinea (PNG) coffee beans are carefully grown and cultivated in the highlands of Papua New Guinea, which is well-known for its high rainfall and rich, fertile soil, hence why it has a reputation for producing some of the highest-quality coffee in the world. Around 90% of PNG coffee beans are processed using the wet method, which gives the coffee beans their unique, subtle, and rich flavor profile. The"wet" or "washed" method is when the flesh of the cherries is separated from the seeds and then the seeds are fermented – soaked in water for around two days. This softens the mucilage, which is a sticky pulp residue that is still attached to the seeds. Then this mucilage is washed off with water. After the fermentation process, the coffee is then rinsed free and clean of any residuals with water. The beans are then dried out in the sun using either raised beds made of screens, large flat patios, or with mechanical dryers. After these steps, the coffee is rested and then milled, resulting in a clean, polished bean ready for the roaster. The advantage of "wet" processing results in a clean and bright cup of coffee with well-defined acidity. The fermentation process in wet processing is easier to control, which can result in a consistent flavor profile from batch to batch. PNG coffee beans are rich in complexity yet subtle and rewarding in their finish. It’s almost as if you can taste the fruits of the nation’s dense jungles, brimming with sweetness. In Ethiopia, the development of the malt industry is gaining momentum with the construction of new malt plants. The initiative, led by Soufflet Malt Ethiopia in partnership with Actemium Morocco, is a significant step forward in boosting local barley production. The new malting plant, located in the Bole-Lemi Industrial Park near Addis Ababa, is expected to produce 60 thousand metric tons of malt initially, with the goal of increasing this to 110 thousand metric tons. This development is particularly noteworthy given Ethiopia's status as the largest barley producer in East Africa. 🍻 The establishment of the malt plant is set to have a positive impact on the Ethiopian economy, offering the dual benefits of meeting the domestic demand for beer production and creating employment opportunities for the local population. This move aligns with the broader trend of increasing self-sufficiency in barley malt production within Ethiopia, reducing reliance on imports, and supporting the growth of the local brewing industry. https://lnkd.in/dZT-5SsC #EthiopiaMalt #BarleyBoostEthiopia #SouffletMaltEthiopia #AddisIndustryGrowth #AfricanBrewingRevolution

Garri Processing Machinery https://lnkd.in/g-xUAW7k Cassava Garri(Gari) Process Description and Flowchart: Garri is a fermented and gelatinized dry coarse flour, very popular in West Africa and a staple food in Nigeria, Ghana, Benin, and Togo. Its ability to store well and its acceptance as a "convenience food" is responsible for its increasing popularity in the urban areas of West and Central Africa. It is often consumed as the main meal in the form of a dough or a thin porridge. Both are prepared in the household by mixing dry Garri with hot or cold water and cooking and are served with soup or stew. Garri is also eaten as a snack when mixed in cold water with sugar, and sometimes milk. It swells three to four times its volume when mixed with cold water.

12 years ago I started Bubez Foods in my kitchen, the idea was simple to provide working mums with convenience to hygienically produced Pap - A fermented grain cereal porridge, for their family. One day I imagined "What if I could earn Ten Naira (less than 1 cent) in profit and sell One Million of it?" My goodness! That would mean Ten Million Naira in profits (at the prevailing Dollar to Naira exchange rate of $1:N160) $62,500 in profits. That gave birth to my big dream "Project 1 Million', putting Bubez Pap in the hands of 1 Million customers I'd be honest because it was something I made regularly in my home as a weaning meal for my children, I didn't think I had market in Nigeria for my project 1 million *covers my face in shame* I imagined it would be best suited for Nigerians and Africans in the diaspora craving a taste of home. Everything I did was ask myself "What would be the best presentation of our product?" Innovating from a place of service. One of our unique selling proposition - Easy Access to High Quality Food Products, necessitated the launch of our US Ecommerce website. The video is an online order of Bubez Pap shipping to Connecticut. If you're in the US, here's the link to make your purchase and try out Bubez Pap - 100% Natural Authentic Pap with Excellent taste: https://lnkd.in/df7YTsu5 #export #foodprocessing #BusinessGrowthStrategist

Mikate⁉️Beignet‼️Puff Puff? Doughnut? 👉🏽The snack food industry in Africa is experiencing significant growth. In 2024, the market is expected to generate around $12.90 billion in revenue. ⚠️This growth is driven by changing consumer habits, with more people opting for convenient and ready-to-eat snacks due to busy lifestyles. ♻️Overall, the African snack food market is expected to grow annually by 8.09% from 2024 to 2029. ❣️I hope that the women with a big pot of boiling hot oil, selling beignet/puffpuff/mikate throughout the day will not disappear from the landscape of the food scene. ✨They sell small doughnut-like round pastry, a traditional snack made of fried dough and eaten across Sub Saharan Africa. ♨️There are many names and varieties of the pastry. They are generally deep-fried to a golden-brown color. 🛑It’s mostly rolled in newspaper or some sort of paper if it’s to-go. A snack that will bring out childhood memories in many of us. Have a great Friday. #africa #afrika #duediligence

RWANDA COFFEE BEANS About 95% of Rwanda's coffee plants are the high quality Arabica varietal Bourbon. Also cultivated are relatively small amounts of the Catuai and Caturra varietals. One of the varietals cultivated in Rwanda is Coffea arabica var. mayaguez, a cultivar of Bourbon (Coffea arabica var. bourbon). Most of the green coffee is wet processed often at communal washing stations used by numerous coffee farmers. Why would it be essential to try a cup of cofffe from kigari beans?
